Question

Pootsy,

Aside from the fact that Ms. Funk likely held you accountable for your own actions please explain why you think she needed to go...I am just curious as you didn't make your position very clear aside from what I read between the lines..which was "I got caught doing something wrong, was held accountable and now I am gonna project blame on everyone or anyone else (in this case Ms. Funk) instead of accept the consequences of my actions."

It seems like everybody likes Terry Malone because he let you off of some ticket or crime you committed. How is that going to work when he does the same to drug offenses or gang offenses? Then how are you going to feel about him? People complain that our current county attorney already does that enough. You should like somebody because of their principles, morals and ethics not because of what they have done for you!!!!

I like Terry Malone because of some thngs he said to me one time in a bad situation I was caught up in. I was going through a really hard time at that time. It is personal and I care not to repeat it, but he was very kind to me in this matter and I will always be very thankful to him.

Now for the comments about Julie Funk....Why should have John Sauer kept her? She didn't like her job anyhow and she said he was treating her bad, so why stay in the first place? Screw that.

Most people (with abundant proof on this thread) evaluate people in law enforcement or judicial roles in direct relationship to the result they experienced. In this example, if I rec'd a deferral or reduced charge, they're OK-to-great. If I did not, or IMO paid too heavily a price, then the person is not OK-to-terrible.

Even worse, is when we label others based on third-party knowledge, never directly knowing or having dealt with the person, such as Sauer. Many of us do that.

We tend to treat businesses with the same measuring stick. When we receive bad product or service, many of us tend to boycott and tell everyone else. Instead, we should take our issue directly to the owner or very senior management. Most of us don't do that.

I firmly agree that we need a change in the CA office. Not because I've been wronged in any way, or because I think someone was rude or didn't attend to my needs, or I heard it somewhere. I agree because of direct experience with the CA and a personal judgement that he's too often arrogant, demeaning, disrespectful to others, and I'm not convinced that he has the legal foundation to be a caring, concerned and still effective County Attorney.

Pootsy,

Based on your comments, I guess my reading between the lines was on the nose. To answer your question..it appears to me the reason this topic continually comes up is because you and others like you continue to project blame on others. In fact, my only intention of joining this topic was to see if you had some valid arguments or if you were just projecting as I suspected. My advise is that you put on your big girl panties, accept the consequences or your actions and learn from your mistakes so that they are not repeated in the future. Face it, we all make mistakes. We are human and sometimes that is how we learn best.

Ms. Funk and all of the prosecutor's that have left the office before and since her departure are all very talented, up and coming attorneys that maintain the respect of the legal community. That fact alone speaks volumes.

Well good for her, I am glad she is talented. I took all consequences for all my actions (that I got caught for) and I did not tell on others to get me out of MY trouble. I put on my big girl panties years ago thank you. Have a good day!
