Road repair or replacement?

Ok, I do not understand this at all. North of the by-pass on 6th street, they are redoing the road. WHY? It sure looked as if it was in very good shape. It had been made out of cement. There were no spots that needed repair that I saw! And, it was not that old at all. So, why are they tearing it all up and putting down a new one? What was wrong with the old one? This does not make any sense to me at all! It should all go back to the pharse, "if its not broke, then don't fix it"! OR, could it be that it was not fancy enough due to the casino that is being put up around that area? Sure seems like a complete waste of tax dollars to me! Does anyone know the answer to this?

Last time I drove down it the potholes were horrible.

I used to drive that road quite often with my job, and it was like riding a roller coaster it had so many ups and downs, and the potholes were terrible!
I say kudos to the City for fixing it!

It was a "roly-poly" road, not too smooth. I imagine with the new school
traffic, that it needed redone.
