I assure you all that you have no idea how the Globe works. Just go in there sometime and you'll see that there are only two reporters. Two! You all compare the paper to Hutch, but Hutch has eight reporters alone on the sports side, let alone the news side. The point is that you can't compare the two. Hutchinson is a much bigger city with a much bigger circulation. Dodge City does it what it can in my opinion, given the size of the staff.

Most of you are just cruel and stupid to even understand that though. You all speak so highly of how YOU check your facts and get things right when nobody else does, but if you did that, you would figure out how hard the Globe does have to work just to get a paper out everyday with such a small staff.

All I'm saying is that all you need to do is think before you teardown others. That's the biggest problem with Dodge City... too many people so quick to point fingers at someone else rather than just thinking things through and talking about the issues, not arguing about them.

This thread died on the 7th before you resurrected it. I think everyone here was pleased that the Globe ran a story on Dodgeboard and was kinda giving them a reprieve. You may have just reignited a fire that had been extinguished.

I understand your point with staffing, though. Maybe the Globe should take your advice and try to improve in that area. There are a lot of smaller communities around Dodge City that would probably subscribe to the Globe if there was better coverage.

One other thing: Is calling us stupid any different than us bashing the Globe? Personally, I worked for the Globe many years ago so I think I may know a little.

We are not stupid...... perhaps most are frustrated that the globe doesn't fix the issues. Perhaps customers could be right! That's what I was always taught. If one merchant gives ya excuses and another gives ya service...... where you gonna go? I'm not a subscriber but I know which merchant I'm gonna frequent. I do altho read the globe online at least weekly - if there is anything really pertenant to me (800 miles away) my sissy calls me.....
