| Wasn’t Kline’s a pool hall in the early 70’s and an IGA grocery sometime before that, or am I having fuzzy memories?

| I am not quite old enough to remember this place - matter of fact, when I saw Kline's it reminded me of the department store at the south end of the mall when I was a kid. The building you are showing is known to me as the "old Lucas Auto Glass building on Wyatt Earp." I will imagine it will all be a memory very soon due to the Wyatt Earp expansion. |

| This "Kline's" was a major hangout for teens in the 60s. Pool & snooker. Cokes & shakes. Burgers & (sometimes) booger.... ![]()

| Kline's was a good place to hang out. Good eats and treats. Play a little snooker. Is it just my age, or were things a little simpler then? Then on down the street where AutoZone sits was the Toot N Tellum. Casa Alvarez is in the old A&W building. Everytime I eat there I walk over the pipes in the parking lot that held the awning up. On Sunday mornings a buddy and I would go to the A&W for a gallon of root beer, then back to the Sonic where we knew the help and get an order of french fries. Our order of fries wasn't in a bag, they just used the tray and heaped it up. Just goes to prove it isn't what you know, but who you know. I remember my first Super Sonic, it was so good. It had their special sauce then(thousand island dressing type of sauce). I better quit my babbling. I did go by Kline's just a bit ago and it was sad to see it go and say goodbye to some fond memories. Ham |

| As I was thinking about all my old hang outs, got to thinking about the Coney Island. They had a fish basket that was out of this world. I used to hang with an older brother and he had me in lots of the coffee shops, like the Coffee Cup, Jack's(remember Mabel the cook that remembered all the orders in her head), Home Cafe, the name slips me now of the cafe where Maquirk's used car lot is, Silver Spur, Shangra-La(sp?). Some of you on the forum my be old enough to remember. Ham |

| Just a couple more pictures of Klines with COLOR this time to preserve the putrid reality of the last owner's desire to emulate McDonald's. OK, it's gone forever. Also, so goes the McCarty Speedway Grandstand.

| Kline's....well, I was waaay too young to remember..... But my brother did! That building's seen a lot. Shame to have to tear it down. But then progress marches on, I guess. I remember the old A & W Root Beer Drive In - the old one before the speakers. Dad would pile us all in the car, we'd go get a gallon of root beer and go home and make root beer floats. Wish life was that simple again.
