| Road Work =( Well... What happened to the worker that are supposed to be rejuvinating Wyatt Earp Blvd? This is purely rumor but I have heard that the construction company who won the bid for the road work went bankrupt not but 4-ish months into the job. If this is true then we are pretty much S.O.L on the road for at least a year. |

| Bankrupt is not what I heard, they are actually WAY ahead of schedule. The ripping up old asphalt wasn't scheduled til near the first of the year, there was/is a little argument about what kind or how much gravel bed goes under the new road. The paving crew isn't ready to be here yet, that is why there is a delay.

| Wow how rumors get a-flyin! This from Ray Slattery, DC Engineer: "With the stormwater drainage system now in place, the bed for five new lanes of Wyatt Earp between 2nd and 14th Avenues will start to take shape after the Thanksgiving holday. Dobson Brothers Construction Company will be mobilizing equipment beginning November 27 and is expected to start work on the sub-grade (dirt work) Novermber 28. Placement of the base material is scheduled to begin later in the week." The statement later says..."Work on the sub-grade has been delayed due to the contractor and the City negotiating an alternate base material proposed by the contractor. The negotiations have centered on what would be the most beneficial for the businesses and citizens of Dodge City." This was dated November 16 and was sen to all area media. Updates can be found on he city website - Dodge City, KS |

| Thanks NLIRG. I wonder what the differences are between the City and the Contractor. One would presume the bid called for X base so I hope Y base is more suited for this job and worth the differentials.. Rumors are human nature when information is slow in coming. Cides that, they're quite fun.

| OK let me put the rumors to rest. The road work has stopped to give Detector time to metal detect before it gets covered again. I have been too busy trying to get my house painted to go detecting. You can get this road work going once again by simply coming over to help paint my house ![]()
