I, too, am a niece of Steve. His family will miss him dearly. Please pray for his wife, and the rest of the family as we go through these difficult times. Steve may have lost his battle here on this earth, and we will miss he dearly, but God couldn't have chosen a better person to add to his kingdom in heaven!! Love you always Uncle Steve!!

I'm a former DC resident who played church league basketball on the same team with Steve (he was a BEAST!)...town team, etc...then got to work with him in the radio biz later on...then appreciated his help as I built the Dodge City Legend...I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU SIGN GUY! And I will always appreciate the enthusiasm that you brought to the Dodge City Legend experience back in the good ole' days. You DID fight the good fight! And earned a TON of respect in the process. It ain't gonna be Dodge City without that BOOMING VOICE... But a damn good team in heaven got a helluva play-by-play guy! RIP...

I heard that news at TOC today. Like many of you, my heart sank a little as well. I knew Steve thru his various activities: Karoke, Officiating and his various DJ Duties (both radio and dance). My prayers are with his family and let it be known that this world was a better place for having had Steve Brown in it. He will be greatly missed.

We will miss you Uncle Steve. I am a Nephew of Steve. My wife Natalie and 2.5 yr old son AJ spent a few hours with Steve and Bobbi on Sunday. When Steve could still talk he told my dad that he wanted to see AJ again. It was a good day for him. His eyes showed that he knew exactly what was going on and who was there. I think this was the last time he was outside. We spent about an hour on the front porch. Before we left Bobbi held AJ so he could give Steve a hug. There was enough strength for Steve to hug him and Natalie and I back. I know that Steve made people happy. Last fall I asked him if he could DJ the Prom at the school that I teach at (Otis-Bison High School) and I know that he really wanted to be there. He was always there when he was asked. The last 2 times that we asked him to DJ (our wedding and a prom) we were complimented for months and years afterwards. I can say that the entire Brown Family thanks the people of Dodge City for all of the support they have given Steve and Bobbi through his battle with cancer. Thank you, Matt, Natalie, and AJ Brown Last edited by MattBrownHaysKansas; 01-17-2008 at 09:36 PM. Reason: added

| Steve was a good friend. He did so much for Dodge City and always did what he could to help me out with Ask Vinnie, especially when we first got started. Thank you so much, you are already missed! RIP... Vinnie and his crew
