| Only drawback You guys rocked! But I can't believe the Buzzard lost the MC contest to that chick from the country station. She was awful. 93.9 is the only station I have listened to since I moved here from Denver. Eh. But I am looking forward to Styx!!! |

| Congrats. Never hurts to have those two guys you mentioned in your post in your corner. They are the best around at what they do. It also helps to have a great soundman and system to play through like Segue Sound. After all the soundman can make or break a bands actual sound. Glad you guys won. Dodge City has always been spoiled with good talented bands and the people have come accustomed to that. Bands from here travel to other places and the people act like they have never heard a good band before by their reaction. Support your local Musicians. |

| Hey! I recognize the people in that second picture. Looks like Richy Salms(sp) and Kent Wagner. I used to play in a band called Loose Change back in the 70's with Kent, and I went to school with Richy.

| Ask Vinnie must have family or friends that work for the paper then, that seems to be the only way to get anything printed. Aside from the Omaha achievements of 2 Dodge City locals that went unmentioned, I have acquired yet another example of the totally biased reporting that is the Globe. A friend in town had a baby on Leap Year Day. The father called the Globe to see if they wanted to do a story. Was told (of course) that such a story "wasn't in the interest of the people of Dodge City". Imagine the family's surprise when they saw instead a story about a couple (related to a Globe staff member) who had gotten engaged on Leap Year Day. I won't be buying the paper anymore. Seems if you aren't in the 'clique' then you aren't of interest to them. Eric are you reading this?

| Monster - Who have you been speaking with? Although it certainly isn't my place to speak on behalf of the Globe, that doesn't sound like anyone on the news side. Although we're consistently criticized on here — which is fine, considering we shouldn't be above reproach — a large part of what we cover depends on readers sending us information. I haven't heard anything about the child born on Leap Day (which is surprising considering we were actually looking for a Leap Day feature) and the same goes with your dart successes. Although we probably wouldn't have been able to devote a whole story considering our sports department consists of one person currently, we definitely would have printed a courtesy photo along with some basic information. So, I am curious whom specifically you spoke to so we can sit down and figure out what is going on. I spoke with each of the people on the news side today and they all said they haven’t received a phone call regarding your two story ideas. And that’s not just for Monster. If you hear something, I would encourage you to let us know. Unfortunately, reporters don’t have an innate “news sense” that tingles when something newsworthy happens. And as for why we covered “Ask Vinnie,” Jeff Mooradian called us and let us know that 1) They were participating 2) That they won. Again, I do apologize if you’ve had a negative experience with the Globe. Looking forward to your response. |

| You guys rocked! Glad I was there to cheer you on. As for the DJ, voted for Rocking M (loyal to Mr. John Jenkinson), but the guy justn't didn't seem to get the crowd going, like the gal from Western Kansas Broadcast did. Plus you couldn't understand a word he said! ![]()
