I agree with Wordy. I eat at the APPLEBEES here in Dodge quite a bit and get poor service. There are a couple of servers I try to ask for so I know at least my service will be ok. When I order a steak it's cooked right about 50% of the time and the mashed potatoes have been cold on more than one occasion. I have sat there more than once listening to the staff talk about how much they drink last night, use profanity and talk about thinks very innappropriate for that setting.....It's one of the few places to eat with variety so I still go there....shame on me I guess. If a Chili's would move in here with good service and good managment Applebee's would be like Boot Hill next to them..going..going..gone.

I ate at Applebees the other day myself with some company from out of town. I have had bad experiences there before, but I do not beleive that should make me " never eat there again". My experience the other day was because of the Hostess woman that greets you when you walk in the door. It is my opinion that particular person needs to be perky, friendly, and considerate. If for some reason this person is having a bad day, management should replace her with someone else for the day.

The place was busy, but Ive seen worse. When she went to seat us at one of the 2 person tables we asked if we could please wait until the end table was cleaned off for a little bit more room. She was quite huffy about it while she cleaned off the other table. We asked nice.. and didnt mind waiting, until the attitude showed up. AFter that I noticed the entire time we were there waiting on our salads (45 minute wait), that the woman that seated us was standing up in her hostess spot EATING! Isnt that what breaks are for??? Then I got to watch her picking her teeth while she was getting out menus to new customers. When I go out to eat I do NOT want to see that.

I do not believe that my experience this time or other times if because of "Applebees" itself, it is because of the poor help they have. I do expect good service when i go out to eat. Polite wait staff, good food, drinks refilled without me asking. I do not beleive that is too much to expect. In return I do tip according to the great service I receive or in this case the service I do not receive. It is too bad that a few people have to give Applebees a bad name.

Of course Ill go back. Ill hope they got a clue about their help. Im sure there are people out there that want jobs and can do a great job. Those that do not do a great job for Applebees need to be weeded out so they can move on to something else, hopefully NOT something with the public.

Piss us off once and we'll give you another try. Do it again and we will enjoy the fact that there are many more choices.

Most of the employees at a place like Applebee's will do what you allow them to do. IF the girl was eating at the front where people come in then it's because there was a lack of supervision. I believe if you have a manager present and consistently enforcing the standards a lot of the crap wouldn't go on but it does......

We seldomn go to Applebee's, it's usually sucks. Although I have NEVER had anyone be rude to me there, especially management. We were there a coupe of weeks ago with friends, there was a problem with getting our order out correctly. Management took care of it with a smile on thier face.

Back in the day when I was in the food service business, I was taught that the customer was always right no matter how stupid they may be. Because it's all about word of mouth, but these days it seems that it's all about the money and the managers these days seem to think, this is my store and my rules and if you don't like it you can go some where else. And todays managers try to be buddys with their co-workers, which in my opinion is wrong, that just lets them get away with stupid stuff. This town and many others are lacking from "smart" managers that know how to run a business and that is the main reason for the poor service that you receive.
