My Impression:
Oblivion is the sequel to the award-winning The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, which also bred two expansion packs Bloodmoon and Tribunal, and from the very first moment I played The Elder Scrolls series I was impressed. Known for its open-ended gameplay and (for it's time) impressive graphics it set itself apart as one of the greatest RPGs of all time. With the sequel Oblivion the developers at Bethesda Softworks look to up-the-ante. With the same freeroam principle and improved combat. Oblivion is looking to be a contender for Game of the Year and it hasn't even hit shelves yet. The graphics have been upgraded immensely making it one of(if not the best) looking game this year. Oblivion will be released on the PC and also on the Xbox 360 and comes in a regular format or a Collector's Edition. The combat in Morrowind was based on number rolls and stat points, with Oblivion combat is based off of the same, but also your own ability to swing a sword, cast a spell, or shoot an arrow. It will also depend on how well you can dodge and use a shield to block attacks. PC owners will also get an extra treat Morrowind was known for its Construction Set, which allowed users to create their own maps with quests, dungeons and even full towns. Well Oblivion looks to improve on that as well. In the old Construction Set if you wanted to make a forest you would have to place every single tree and bush making it a very tedious process, well with Oblivion every single plant is grown. Meaning you tell it the area you want a bunch of trees and the computer grows the trees so you never have to worry about getting the same map twice. This same principle was used in the main game. Every forest you see in Oblivion was grown by the computer. Oblivion is looking to be a must-have for those of you who are hardcore gamers. But one thing is certain you must have a high-end machine to run this on PC. Every NPC(Non-Player Character) in Oblivion is attackable and can be killed, but be warned if you attack somebody for know reason the guards will come for you, and if you kill certain NPCs you can ruin the story-line. So if you are a sucker for swords, magic, and a game that doesn't force you to the end, but let's you take your own path(and time) to get there pick up Oblivion due out March 20.

I will be picking this up. Just to let folks know, the requirements are somewhat harsh if you want the frills offered, but Oblivion will be the standard for a while...

I personally have already pre-ordered my copy for the Xbox 360 and i'll let you guys know more after I play it a little and I will also be picking up the PC version as well. Thanks for the specs shouldn't be a problem for my pc.

Should be able to play Oblivion on medium 800 x 600 or low 1024 x 768 settings

Looking to upgrade to:

Nvidia 7600 PCI-E

Will have to replace motherboard and cpu (since mb only handles AGP) and the prices on video cards should start to drop soon since the Nvidia 7900 was just released.

Release date for TES: Oblivion is March 20 at Walmart (hopefully since we are in BFE)
