Having fun toying with 419 scammers

I have been toying with this 419 scammer that has offered to give me millions of dollars. I realize of course, it is a scam, but It sure is fun to toy with them and waste their time.

Dear Tim,

Thanks for your email and readiness to assist me in moving the funds to your account. I am a widow and I lost my husband 3 years ago. I was contacted by a bank informing me that the funds my husband deposited in their escrow account will be returned to government if not claimed before 6 months comeing.

I was never informed of any deposit by my husband but when I checked through his files, I saw some of the transfer documents indicating that he transferred $10M (Ten Million Dollars) to bank which he planed to use to open a wrist watch company in USA.

I am currently in the hospital on a sick bed and cannot do such transaction now. I need someone who can assist me receive the money and I am ready to offer the person $2M (two million dollars) and you will help me and invest the rest in any profitable business venture in your country as i can't handle it for now.

I have only one son who is still in the University . I have all the documents of transfer with me here and will forward them to you to enable you contact bank for them to transfer the funds to your account.

If you can assist me, send your full name and telephone contact and I will in return send the documents to you for confirmation before you contact the bank. You have to assure me that you will not disappoint me and my son.

Thanks for your email. now I want you to know that a written aggreement will be made between us by a lawyer and I will sign leaving a place for you to sign and return back to me so that I can forward your details to the bank.

I do not want anyone to cheat me because my husband is dead. This is all we have got now and I need to be very careful with who ever will rececieve the funds for me.

send me your full detailed address, telephone and fax number and if possible your banking details to enable me write the agreement and send to you.

I am a little concerned about sending you my bank information. What kind of information do you need? I would really like to help out though. Instead of forwarding the funds directly to my bank, why don't you just send me a certified check and then I will wire the funds to your account, less my fee? Should I call you Amadi, Rosemary, Vivian, or Obasi? I am getting confused because in your emails, your name keeps changing.

Hmmm this all sounds totally on the up and up to me! I say go for it and throw all of us board members a big party once you get some of the cash. And if she is still needing some kind of opportunity to invest, let her know about the NoLongerInRadioGuy Buy-Me-A-House Foundation. Thanks for your email but note that the money is already in the bank and you have not yet contacted the bank to know if they can issue a certified bank draft or check to you.
I have no power over the funds now and until you have contacted the bank, they cannot do anything. First the account is place dormant and MUST be activated first before any operation or transaction can be conducted on it.
Please send me your full names and address with telephone numbers so that I can draft the agreement through my doctor.
After that, you will then contact the bank with the Power of Attorney that I will give you and tell them that you want the money paid to you via daft or check.
Email me the details now as I want this to be completed soonest.

I'm not sure if he goofed or what. First the culprit was using an anonymous yahoo email address that was routing through an open proxy so it was difficult to trace, but this person must have relaxed his guard or slipped up because in his last email he emailed me directly, inadvertantly revealing his true IP address in his email header. The address, which was 62.56.141.11, I was able to trace back through his ISP IPPLANET to Izmir, Turkey, a huge player in the 419 scams. I am going to see if I can lead the scammer on for awhile to see what line of crap he feeds me, and to see what further information I can gather. Then I will send the information along with his IP log and times to his ISP and the local Polizia in Izmir.

since when have doctors drafted legal agreements? Hey NLIRG send some of that fund my way when you figure out how to get it. I sure would like a new home too!!!
