| SBC, now AT&T DSL 1.5mbps $12.99 3.0mbps $17.99 6.0mbps $27.99 Cox has service, but I wouldn't use it personally, and not sure what it costs. There are several local places that have broadband, some good some bad, but I've not had much experience with them.

| DSL/Cable implies they are in-town residents... and I'd pick cable over SBC now ATT unless Ya-hoo still sells service on the cheat. err.. cheap. Ya-hoo, SBC/ATT won't inform you when your special price contract has to be renewed... and will let it expire so'z they can up the dinero. Wireless offerings abound, too. I'm using www.unitedwireless.com and am pleased with their service and support. They are local along with Starr(?) and www.rurallink.net Hope this helps.

| Lurker, when I used rurallink at work there in town, we always had problems with it. Either it wouldn't work, or worked slow. And, ATT is still with Yahoo. and for me, last year, when it was time for it to renew, I got a letter from them saying that my term was up, what the new price would be. After calling them, and telling them I didn't want it if it was going up, they lowered my price. They seem to always react to the thought of lost income.

| Easy boy! Some of us have to WORK for a living! I have had rurallink for quite awhile, and it is so much better than dial up. Since I live in the boonies, I don't have DSL or cable available. Rurallink did upgrade some stuff, and seems to be doing better now than at first. One thing I can say is that everytime I called them with a problem, they have responded with a service tech. By the way, stay away from Victory. It totally sucked, and the techs don't even know what they are doing or offering. DodgeHIgh--------waaasssssuuuupppp!!!??? |

| I currently have AT&T DSL. The problem is, I am moving. I currently live north of the bypass and I am moving to a house about 6 blocks south of me. When I called to change my phone and internet to the new address, I was informed that DSL is not available if you live north of Soule. I informed them I currently have their DSL and do indeed live north of Soule currently. The guy I talked to seemed fairly knowledgable but could not figger this one out. He tried several different ways to put it into the order, but just could not get it to go through without error messages. I guess I will go with Cox, since I plan on ordering cable through them as well. Can anyone tell me how much basic expanded cable with internet is? I am not really needing digital cable...just need the regular cable stuff for the kids to have their networks and me to have football every weekend along with the food network and comedy central for me! |
