Too funny! If you are serious though, think of slave and master as secondary and primary, the same cable connects both drives to the motherboard, it's kinda like which drive gets priority on moving info through the cable to the motherboard where the processor is.Also, kcm, rep power of 4 and 2 green boxes!!! What's up with that??

Actually I'm partial to Camaros. I've had two 78 Z28(one with LT1)'s and a 78 Trans AM. I liked them. Although not really considered muscle cars I do like the style.

| You both are baaaaaaad. I kinda knew what the motherboard does and the slave did, but I wasn't altogether sure. I guess I'm a little like TexKan - just need some speed. The biggest thing I use mine for (besides Dodgeboard!!) is work - and when I log into my computer at work, I want it to go through RIGHT NOW! Hubby stores plenty of work stuff on it too, and it just slows it down. I've asked if he can hook up this one monitor to two computers and we could each have our own and he said it's too much money. I think he just doesn't want to. Or maybe he doesn't know how. Anyway - I just want it to work when I say. Sometime I'll put up the $75 for my little hard-drive guy to come out and add another drive. It's all good (to quote TexKan). Now, I'm busy on Ebay trying to buy a Tressy. Nobody get smart and bid against me, please - - I don't have a Tressy yet and she's about the last one I need.

| I am having a simular problem with an IBM NetVista PC. So far no luck on anything I have tried. The computer will boot, but as windows is loading, the display goes into standby mode. I re-installed win2k to another directory and when I slect either OS now, it does the same monitor to standby as windows is loading, after boot process. I would re-format and re-install, but the customer wants the data & programs which he doesn't have any software for. So I need to get around this. It does the same on all boot options (safe mode. last known good, ect..). I have also tried repairing with recovery console and with install repair to no avail. what next? |

| Maybe add a small hard drive just for the OS then the current drive for just storage. Load the OS on the new drive then retrieve the data and programs that you can get to from the corrupted drive? Just a thought, I'm not a big expert, maybe others like Tee or Detector could help you more.

| That would be nothing new. Tee and Detector are my guru mentors. Without either I would not be making a living as a tech. I did think of that, but I would have to have a NTFS partitioned small drive. I just haven't got around to installing w2k onto a different drive to use for master. Thanks for comment, they all make me think a bit more and hopefully give new direction. |

| Sounds like you may have a hardware issue with the video chipset. Try adding a video card and disabling any onboard video options in CMOS. If that works, then you do have a video chipset problem. |

| No disrespect but do they make a pill for any of that or is it ok to just take the thing out and shoot it???? Just kidding - too much time on my hands today.......
