 Thanks oh well, SGT T. you're right of course, they're only machines, and this one being 5 years old, will be put in a corner for some moments of leisure at a later date, if ever. i'm going for a new laptop, and plug or not plug, it will run Vista. thank you everyone for your helpful input.      |

| I like Vista as well but I had a problem with video card drivers on it and went back to xp.
