I have AVG and want to try another because AVG seems to dominate my little toy. Kinda like releasing a tiger into a house to catch a rodent. Everything stops when an email comes in.... that kind of thing....

So, anyone have avast?

Avast seems to be a good choice for users who use P2P and IM apps such as Kazza, AIM and MSIM. I just installed it on one of my PC's for testing so I can give a better review. From what I've found so far many prefer it over AVG which has always been my choice.

So far the install was painless.

We'll see.

We use Avast on our home computer. Have had it for a few months - no problems at all.

Lurker im having the same thing going on with AVG which was just mildly annoying with it being overly active but I just noticed that it got rid of a couple of links that I use now and then that I had just saved on the desktop. Since Muffin has had no problems with it have you tried AVAST yet and if so, what do you think?

I haven't tried it Bigun.... Truth is I shut off avg or whatever it is. But I do run a virus scan every day at noon. Never seen a report yet about a virus.

FWIW, I don't surf into the Danger Zones and my ISP uses some kind of blocker. I don't know what it is but I got tired of my Mom emailing me every day wanting money............. FOR FOOD!
