| Just a quick question for some of the tech-heads on here, how can I tell on the processor whether it should run 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows Vista Ultimate?

| It shows your processor as Supported Features: Dual Core Enhanced Halt State (C1E) Enhanced Intel Speedstep® Technology Execute Disable Bit 1 Intel® EM64T 2 Intel® Thermal Monitor 2 Intel® Virtualization Technology EM64T is 64bit technology, but it also states this disclaimer Legal Disclaimers: 1 Enabling Execute Disable Bit functionality requires a PC with a processor with Execute Disable Bit capability and a supporting operating system. Check with your PC manufacturer on whether your system delivers Execute Disable Bit functionality. 2 Intel® EM64T requires a computer system with a processor, chipset, BIOS, operating system, device drivers and applications enabled for Intel EM64T. Processor will not operate (including 32-bit operation) without an Intel EM64T-enabled BIOS. Performance will vary depending on your hardware and software configurations. See Redirect Page for more information including details on which processors support Intel® EM64T or consult with your system vendor for more information. My quess and it is a guess at this point the answer is either. The CPU and the MB look totally compatible to accept 64bit, that was mentioned in the disclaimer. The part about even at 32bit tells me that you can run in 32bit mode but you still have to have all the EM64T features working. I would say that defeats the purpose to run in 32bit mode. |

| Thanks i'll try that out, now another question has come up. I am currently in the process of installing everything into the tower I got it all put into the tower and go to boot it up and nothing. No power or nothing. I messed around with the plugs for the led lights and got one to come on so it is getting power, but any thoughts on why I can't get power to this thing? The power supply doesn't even kick on and I know that on some the mobo also controls the power so I'm not sure I have been working on it since 5pm and don't know what else to do.

| First you need to check out your power supply make sure its good. I have a tester I will bring at noon you can come get, if I don't forget it. Just because it doesn't do anything while connected to the MB doesn't mean it's not good. You need to check out all your jumpers. Look for voltage jumpers for your CPU and FSB switches. I have had the same problem before, but it was because my jumpers were all wacked out. Or You got something DOA. Just suggestions |
