| Copy to DVD I've got this movie on VHS that has never and will never be released to DVD. It's one of those little known cult flicks called "Student Bodies" and if you've heard of it you know why it won't make it to the digital age. But I think it's funny as hell. Anyway I want to record the tape which I purchased legally to my DVD recorder. Well the VHS is copy protected and the DVDR refuses to record it. I used to have an image stabilizer when I hooked 2 VCR's together many years ago that took this out but it's long gone. This is the ONLY Tape I still have that has any value to it so I'm wondering if there are any suggestions.

| not that I do this but here goes (ha) What I do (oops my "friend") does is take the vhs copy protected and copy it to another vhs tape using the 2 vcr's then take the copied tape and stick it in the vcr/dvdrecorder. It seems to work on everything I (my friend) has done. hope it helps

| I don't have a second VCR anymore or even the image stabilizer that used to work so that's not an option. Sounds like it would work fin though.

| It depends on the type of encryption on the cassette. If it is Macrovision, you could be pretty well screwed, at one time, there was a company making a macrovision removal box, but they were sued and forcedtodestroy all their stock.
