    Help

Ok.....so I bought some cheap.....well, very cheap computer speakers from China...

Static (takes me back to the 50's tho....transistor radios)..... HUSH :o

But worse static when I engage the mouse.... Is there a solution besides returning them or stomping the static out of um ?

Are there adjustments I can do, or did I just mess up.

If you hear static when you move the mouse then you most likely have a "poor shielding" issue. The mouse encoder sends pulses to the motherboard to be interpreted as left/right, up/down signals which can often be picked up by the soundcard.

If you have powered speakers, the problem can be amplified. If your speakers are unpowered, then your problem is most likely not the speakers. Some things you can do to minimize and maybe even eliminate the interference is to disable any unused inputs on the soundcard. Open your mixer properties and mute line input, microphone, CD and all other inputs and see if your problem goes away.

If your problem goes away when you mute the CD, then you might benefit from a sheilded CD audio ambilical cable. If your problem goes away when you mute the mic, you might benefit from a better sheilded microphone. If the problem still exists and you have an add-in soundcard, you might benefit from moving the soundcard to a slot farther away from the mouse chipset.

You might also try switching to a USB mouse.
President Obama has responded to our national debt spiralling out of control by calling for the creation of a Deficit Commission to find solutions to the problem. Coulter suggests The Deficit Commission's first recommendation should be "resign immediately Mr. President."

If your speakers plug into the AC outlet on the wall, unplug it and turn it over the other way.

I"m still working on it... the static has faded out some just with re-seating the plug....or am I imagining things?
