| My wife and I were travelling through Dodge City last Sunday and stopped for lunch at Sarocha Thai restaurant. What an incredible place! This was without a doubt the best Thai restaurant I have ever been in in the US. Everything was made fresh and to order. The chef even made a fantastic dipping sauce from fresh chilis, lime juice and nam pla ( nuc mam) at my request. The spring rolls not only tasted great but were a work of art. Another appetizer we had---- potato delights which were a hollowed out potato, deep fried and then stuffed with chicken and green curry, was something I've never seen anywhere before and was delicious. My entree was whole tilapia with red curry sauce and my wife had pineapple fried rice. I can't begin to describe how good the fish was, perfectly juicy and flaky with a coconut milk based red curry to die for. My wife's fried rice was excellent also. Some of the complaints about the slowness of the service are not really valid and I hope this place doesn't change at all. Good food takes time. If you want fast food, go to one of the chains like Applebees and get a nice, microwaved, overpriced, tasteless meal made up in corporate headquarters and it will come out real fast and you can get exactly the same thing in Emporia Topeka and hundreds of other places across the US. This restaurant is a real gem; the food is sublime, the atmosphere and service are perfect and the dishes are unique. The chef came out and talked to us afterwards and brought us some homemade tapioca pudding. She obviously puts a lot of love into what she makes and it comes through in every delicious bite. I wish I lived closer so I could try everything on the menu. |

| Emporian: Hope you had a good time in Dodge City. Thanks for giving us a visitors view of the place. Sometimes we all get so caught in our normal routines, we forget how things look to others. Hope you stop in Dodge again sometime.

| Recently I was driving through Dodge on my way to somewhere better and I noticed this superb Army Recruiting Station. Once inside I noticed how quaint and warlike the decor was...very testosterone driven indeed. The service was prompt and speedy...almost rushed which is good if you are in a hurry. Now if you are not in a hurry you could also go to one of those chain recruiting stations like the Navy or Air Force if you can find one around here...(you won't) The Army's service is very speedy which I like and hope it never changes. I sipped on an ice cold soda provided for FREE...couldn't believe it. Not a warm, expensive soda like at Applebees. I also go a very nice coffee mug upon my departure. If you are ever passing through DC I insist that you stop at this place. I will visit again!

| Whoever Emporia is isn't as important as the fact that this restaurant is owned by a young couple who are trying to pull themselves up by their boot straps and IF Emporia's post helps get them a few more dollars then it's better for Dodge than giving that money to Pepsi/YUM/Long John Silver's/Taco Bell/Pizza Hut. Post away. Post your menu. Compress, resize and post some pictures of your meals.
