Superman Returns

Saw this at the movies on Saturday. A really good movie. A bit thin on story, but faithful to the original comics and the previous movies. Brandon Routh's mannerisms are uncannily similar to those of the late Christopher Reeve, and there is one point in the movie when he says "You shouldn't smoke Miss Lane" where he sounds EXACTLY like Reeve.

Kevin Spacey is (as usual) excellent and even Kate Bosworth is believeable as Lois Lane. Some excellent action sequences, as you would expect from Hollywood these days, although the New York (excuse me, I mean Metropolis) scenes with buildings bordering on collapse were just a little too close to the 9/11 edge if you know what I mean.

Worth a look. 7.5 out of 10.

[The Joker]

I LOVED IT!!! I thought it was done really well and I thought Brandon did an excellent job. The action scenes were awesome!! Granted, we are a comic book family, any superhero movie that has been made, I have seen it. The story was a little thin, but it left it wide open for a next installment. I, personally, thought to myself, this isn't going to be as good as Christopher Reeves, couldn't even come close. Well I was WRONG!!! Brandon did a great job.

Everyone should see this movie. It really takes you back to some of the great work Christopher did in past Superman movies.
