Lakeway Hotel - Meade KS

I was passing through on my route today and stopped in this little town to eat at the recently famed Lakeway Hotel in Meade, KS. Putting the recent controversy aside , the food was simply impeccable.

I ordered their soup of the day and had a Roasted Chicken salad afterwords. The soup was like something you'd come to expect from only the fanciest of restaurants. It was a hamburger/vegetable cocktail that would tantalize even the finest of palates. The salad, which they made especially for me because I am steering away from fried foods, was spiced to perfection and the portion was humongous.

The staff was excellent and even the owner came to check to see how things were. If you happen to get down south, or you are up for the drive, you really wont be disappointed with the food they have here. So give Bobby and Robin a holler, it would be worth the drive, I guarantee it!

I give Lakeway hotel 2 gigantic thumbs way up.

I understand that the locals are still boycotting them. I talked to a couple folks while in there and they were, like me, from out of town.

After the controversy started, my lady and I made a special point of booking a room there and spending some time at the establishment. The experience was fantastic, the service was top-notch, and the food was very good indeed. And all that despite the unwelcome arrival of a couple of bricks through their supper club window the night before. It was a wonderful romantic getaway, not too terribly expensive, and I'd highly recommend both the restaurant and the hostelry without a moment's hesitation.

The honeymoon suite even has a jacuzzi....
