I think you are talking about the Ranch, since they don't do shows at the Dodge House. The food sucks even worse since they moved into the Dodge House Restaurant!

I put the depot theater shows in the brochures, but I've officially taken Marchel Ranch off. We went there Saturday for a company christmas party and I will neer reccomend them!! A friend found a long piece of hair in his food and let one of the girls that works there know, she said if he would've saved it ( he threw the plate away because he was disgusted) and shown her they could've given him a new plate, but since they've already got what they paid for they couldn't do anything about it?!!! Than she walked away while he was in mid sentence talking to her. A few minutes later Shelby ( i think was her name) came out and told him "if you're having a bad day you need to leave" she was claiming the girl he had spoken to informed her that he was cussing her out!!! There was 7 other people at the table and we all tried to tell them that there was no foul language and no attitude given from anyone besides the waitress (or whatever she was) She than said that she had received several complaints from the staff about rudeness from the males at our table.. I was there the whole time and there was no such thing going on. They didn't bother ASKING what was going on or anything.. In my bad that's bad bad bad service they way he was treated. Than we went to the show (wasn't too bad) but the bleachers need some work, everytime someone would walk on them it would bend, i went to the very bottom cuz I was afraid the thing was going to tumble down. Anywho a 2 year old child was walking down the stairs and fell through (he was up to the 3rd steps) he fell right on his face, the staff never asked if he was ok or what happened, I just heard one say that parents need to keep watch of their kids (which is true) but if I owned a business my first concern would be to make sure the person was ok. Sooooooooo enough about the rant. They definately lost alot of business that day, and I will proceed to not send anybody there!!

that's a terrible story! Sad to hear they have become so non complacent about thier once very entertaining business and the once good food you got out there. What is it with DC businesses??? They start out so customer focused then before ya know it they are almost sendin you a monthly bill just cause they let you in the door once in awhile. Tooo bad but they always got the girls' singin careers(?) to lean back on - or all those rodeo appearences they can do..... I'm sure they are gonna drive the dualie no matter if they run a business or not. Gee that could be the problem right there.

Thanks for the report tat2me82. I've never been to the Marchel Ranch for a show, now I know I will never go. I have been to the restaurant in the Dodge House twice, I also will never go there again. Both times I was very unimpressed with the food and the sevice. It makes me wonder why Oprah made such a big deal about it on her show. Maybe she got better treatment and food because she was a celebrity.

I went to the Marchel Ranch recently and the food was horrible, the service was bad and the price was outrageous. When the laddie at the front desk asked how everything was, I told her. She just got snotty with me so I told her I'd never be back. She said "that's fine, don't".

Glad to see it wsn't just me.....

They are at the bottom of my list. I wont ever go there again.

Ya know perhaps an editorial to the Globe would help them wake up....... just seems sad to have a business knowingly treat folks like crap and feel they are justified....... I say paper blitz

Quietly (aka Eric Swanson), are you reading this? maybe a little blurb in the paper about how people feel about the quality of the food and the service at the Marchel Ranch Restaurant in the Dodge House, is in order. If you need quotes from former customers for the story, you could get with me and probably Tee and Army as well would let you know what they thought of the experience.

Newspapers don't very often print stories (bad/good) about private businesses. I doubt they would want to get involved with this.
