I was there at 9:30 tonight. I could not understand the kid on the speaker, but my wife could. It was a simple order and we waited many times longer than we ever have. Sure wasn't "service at the speed of sound". It was so long that I was tempted to leave.

Yep, ditto to all the above. My family went there after Sunday service and I have never been so frustrated in my life. The speaker was so soft that I couldn't understand any of what they were saying. Luckily, the food was right. However, I then buzzed back to get more ketchup and repeated the ketchup request 3 times. Finally, someone came on and understood the request.

The overall sadness of Dodge's businesses comes down to the lack of good workers. It seems most restaurants are so happy with any applicant that they hire them on the spot without question. While low unemployment is good for the county, it sucks for the customer service industry here.

I have to agree - The service at Sonic's sucks. The food is nothing but greasy mush. I stopped going there after I got some fries and what I got was nothing but sog..

I've had problems with McDonalds as well. I ordered a chicken sandwich, when I got home, it was uncooked, raw and just nasty. I went back, complained and got another sandwich, which I wouldn't eat.

The lack of service and those who understand English is just not there.

Is Robert Lynn still managing the Sonic in Dodge? Kenneth Blair don't own it anymore?

I don't know personally. All I know is that Troy Smith and/or the Troy N Smith Trust has paid the taxes on that location since 1997.

Tex would argue that these people DESERVE a decent wage...I'm thinking 5.15 an hour might be TOO decent for most of them...

Bubba-
Troy Smith may own the real estate and lease it back to the operators. This is a familar technique for restaurants/fast food.

I do hope some feedback is getting back to the operators. I remember when Sonic first opened in Dodge and getting my first SuperSonic Burger. Back then it had their special sauce(Thousand Island Dressing or similar). I thought it was just the best burger I had ever eaten.

My buddy and I would go to the A&W(where Casa Alvarez is located now) and get a half gallon of root beer, then go to the Sonic for fries. We had a gal there that must have known the quickest way to a man's heart was his stomach, because when she would bring the fries out and they covered the entire tray.

I am for the old Sonic. I hope it isn't gone forever.

I workin the customer service industy in this town. Not the food, but the lodging. I try to give the best service I can to every single customer. But the fast food industry in this town is just atrocious.

McDonalds is always so busy because the service is slow. But they usually have the order correct.

Sonic is so hard to order from.

Arbys is overpriced (but that has more to do with the franchise costs).

Dairy Queen has the slowest service I've ever experienced at a fast food joint. Also they don't know how to bag properly. 2 large sundaes and 2 large shakes belong in 2 bags not one.

A&W is about on par with Sonic, but the food is about 30% more expensive.

Long John Silver's was so bad they closed down.

Burger King is the only place I get decent prompt service from. They always have the order correct. And their burgers are slightly more healthy than the other places. They taste better to IMO.

This town lacks anything good because no business owners will vie for the brass ring. Cheap easily attainable labor at the sacrifice of quality service. Thats the key. It doesn't matter the industry in this town. They all typically have bad cusomer service.

I agree w/ most everybody in here, I usually have troubles ordering from Sonic due to the communication issues from the person running the speaker.. If they want to hire someone bilingual they should make sure the person at least speaks English to where they can be understood. (even though I'm against the whole bilingual thing being in AMERICA) anywho that's a different subject.. The service sucks pretty much anywhere anymore. If you hire people that don't give a sh** than that's exactly what you're going to get. Unfortunately I believe most of the population doesn't give a sh**. After working at my job and realizing that some managers actually care and take action, I've learned to fill out comment cards and call 800 #'s to report either bad or good things.
