| I won't deny that we couldn't pass the quality inspection 2 years ago. But there has been 3 different owners at our location since George sold. The previous two before the current had no interest in upkeep. The curent ownership is a real estate developer based out of Oceanside, CA. We are managed by a company called TMS out of Louisiana. Things are nicer here now. We spend the majority of our night sold out or damn near sold out. Trust me when I say this. Two years ago when we lost the Best Western name. We were still nice than a lot of this towns hotels. It just takes time and a smart goal oriented ownership and management.

| Just depends on your prefrence I suppose. I've heard a few guests say they will no longer set food in Travelodge because they can't keep things up in the room, mainly maint. stuff. It's been so many years since I've even set foot in that place I can't say anything first hand, but that's been the only complaint I've heard. Same goes for a few of the hotels here, owners/mgrs don't want to spend money to keep things up, but expect money to keep rolling in. I wonder if they realize once you have one dissatisfied customer their bound to tell a few more and it keeps going, ecpecially since a good portion of the hotels are filled w/ repeat corporate business they will never return if mistreated. Econolodge got kicked off Choice chain because they couldn't keep up with standards. That's a terrible terrible place and the owners aren't the least bit concerned. Just from their tone on the phone I would never consider going there.

| A friend's mother passed away a couple of years ago and I wanted to come down there for the service. Silver Spur was the only one I could think of that was decent when I lived there. Ugh! Not the same Silver Spur I remembered!!! I hope the current owner is updating things - the lights in the room went off when I turned my hair dryer on.

Also if you would care to know. The Best Western Board of Directors at the time pass no regulations on their shareholders. The regulations were so strict that 297 other hotels dropped the name or lost because they couldn't keep up. We couldn't keep up as well. I won't deny it though that we were dropped by Best Western. We had severe quality issues that needed severe addressing. But a lot can happen with new ownership and two years of work. Quality here has quadrupled since the change. We spent enough time getting a bad reputation.

| Does the Travelodge own the hotel across from Spruce next to the Silver Spur Night Club? Or is it vacant now? I've always thought that was the nicer facility and would still make for a nice hotel. Also, how many rooms does the current Travelodge have? I've always been curious... |

| I was always told that was the smoking section of the Spur.............top floor

Its not a seperate hotel on the north side of spruce. The night club. Which by the way was a failed attempt and that back section are all part of our hotel. Unfortunately only abotu 1/4 of those rooms are online. We had a severe pipe bursting last winter and about 3/4 of that section is derelict. We have a few contracted workers attempting to find out what we have that can still be salvage back there but it looks pretty grim. Currently we have 90 out of 121 rooms operational. On a side note. Anyone hear that Econolodge (called Economy Lodge) nearly doubled their rates for the first two weeks after the Greensburg Tornado? I told my GM I would have walked out on her and this hotel if she had done that. That is just a staggering lack of business ethic.

| I hear that the "Economy Lodge" has really turned into a DUMP!! From what I have heard, I am surprised that they are even still open. Evidently the owner is just letting it fall down around him! Too bad someone don't nail him for "room rate gouging" and the KDHE don't shut him down! |
