Go to the fights, I heard that the World of Outlaws race will be on ESPN.

They are doing the best they can do. They have talked to many different sources in town. They didn't know about the outlaws when they scheduled. As far as I know the newspaper didn't want to do an article about them either but they will sure do an article on other stuff coming to Dodge. They are testing the waters. If this is semi-successful they plan on coming out here 2 - 4 times a year and like LUrker said that would give us "options". They sell out in the Wichita area and have vendors asking them to come back because of the money. If this is not supported here then they won't come back and then that's ONE more option that we won't have in Dodge. This is one of the newest, most popular thing nation wide and if we can't get people to this...what WILL we get people to?

I'm excited about the fights! I love watching them fight on MyTV. I'll be there for sure assuming I'm not in the wheat fields harvesting! Damn rain and fog....

I take it the Army is one of the sponsors? I know they contacted alot of people to sponsor, but they should be advertising it more. I have only heard about it on this board, although I did know they were coming awhile back.

By the way SonoftheBeach, I thinkit is supposed to be televised on ESPN on Sunday. I know it was televised last year too, but it was not until several weeks following the race.

I asked him about the advertising situation because I didn't know anything about it either. I asked a few friends and they hadn't heard anything. He said he spent a few thousand dollars in advertising, but didn't know where any of the flyers or anything went. He said he also advertised on 97.3 not even knowing what station it was what it played or anything. I told him next time maybe he should consult somebody from Dodge or ask around on where to promote. I still to this day have not seen a flyer. I'm going to tell him if the turn out is no good it's probably more having to do w/ the promotion or lack there of i should say. Word of mouth is how most people know about it.
