Depot Theater Company Play Review-Radio T.B.S.

Lastnight we went to see the play with some friends. It is a holliday tradition we have started and really enjoy going, usually.

The dinner was good I thought. They are always pretty creative with their meal and it is exciting to see what they are going to come up with each time.

The play.... in my opinion.. was awful. I went with the hopes of a good christmas show. Something that would give you a warm feeling in your heart when it was over, like last year. LOVED THE SHOW LAST YEAR!
This year was about all these women in a trailer park that like to gossip and teach their friends spanish phrases so they can comunicate with their mexican yard workers. They combind christmas with Elvis nuts. There is more to the story but really it got very boring. I heard so many people around me sighing. I could see people nodding off. When the lights did come on I heard people asking other people if they were awake.

I apprecieate the hard word these people put into a production like this I know it isnt easy. There is a lot of time put into the acting, and the building of the set, which was pretty cool. I just didnt care for the choice of this particular story for the Christmas show. Honestly I believe your money would be better spent donating it to the Salvation Army, or picking an Angel off a tree and buying a gift for a total stranger. I think you would come out of that feeling so much better than if you go to this show.

I haven't see the show yet this year but I will agree, the show last year was great and the food was pretty good to. It's something nice to do in Dodge.

Nothing against the Wiz but why not go anyhow....how many times have you agreed with what hollywood movie critics have said?

I agree with you Drifter. This is just my opinion. I cant help what I saw and overheard. Im looking at the program and cant even tell from that was T.B.S. stands for. The tickets are $35 per person. I can see ahead to some of the shows comming up and some of them sound great. Every show I have seen before was great. I was just let down on this one. I do wish we could have a rerun of last christmas show GREETINGS. I would think that anybody that saw that would agree it was a show well worth the money, and time. Maybe my expectations were too high. Dont get me wrong, I will be back. I so enjoy going but this is why I will not buy season tickets. I pick and choose which shows I go to see. Id love to hear from others that did see the show, maybe I was having a off night.

To each, his own, Wiz! If everyone liked the same thing, what a deal that would be. Also, the reason for Critics.

Along the same line, I can't tell you how many movies were rated "Thumbs UP" by critics, won Academy Awards, etc, and I thought they STUNK!! And the ones rated "Really Crappy" that I enjoyed!!

Pork with a sauce.. it was yummy. It was served with rice and veggies. There was cheesecake for desert. That was all wonderful. It is becomming tradition for us too. I will go again next year. I hope it is a better christmas story.

Ok I went last night and LOVED it! Actually my only complaint was the chairs were pretty uncomfotable, but the food was good, the Play was good, and of Course the 3.50 beers were pretty good!
There were a few times that it moved a little slow but all in all we loved it. This was the first time I went to the new theater, we used to go to the old one all the time for a Christmas get together and then just stopped (now we will go every year)

And we are going to make plans to see "Corpse" for my wifes birthday in Feb.
