I must recommend that everybody watch the documentary "Sicko" by Michael Moore. I haven't really cared for any of Michael Moore's movies but I had heard stories that even some of his strongest critics said that he got this one right. I was curious, so I got it and watched it. I was pretty impressed. He even took what I thought was a couple of "pot shots" at Hillary Clinton in this movie and I was very surprised and pleasantly pleased to see him do that.

What really got me was when he took some people that were 9/11 responders to Guantanamo Bay to get the same free health care for the responders that we were giving to the terrorists, he didn't get in, but they were seen by Cuba's health system and one gal got her $120 (in the U.S.) prescription filled for about 5 cents in Cuba! It really makes you think about the way things are in the United States health care system. Without much, if any, of his usual very liberal slant on things.

I liked the movie too. He definatley has a way to get the wheels turning in peoples head.

I think the U.S is too much about the dollar. Y give something out for free or next to nothing when you can make money on it?! Since everything costs, that's all anyone is concerned about is making that money. Makes it difficult for people to help another just because. It seems the ones that want to help can't and the ones that can help don't/won't.

Yes, the statements about Cuba may be false, but that doesn't mean everything else in the film is incorrect or lies! I believe that everything else in that film holds true!

When you lie, you lose credability. When you lose credability it is hard for people to believe you. If you lie once in a film that is supposed to be solid facts, how can one assume that you won't lie again.

If you watch the film, you would understand that everything else in there IS TRUE! The part about Cuba is only a minor part of this film. The film covers many aspects of the entire problem, so overall, it is a good film. Even if he fibs a bit on one part! I would still recommend seeing the film...overall.

Wow, those videos of the hospitals in Cuba look almost like the VA hospitals that were also featured on a news program.

Nothing is free...they can't "give it out" for free. SOMEONE pays for it. If we give someone free healthcare then someone else is paying for it in taxes./QUOTE]

While being far from perfect...and definitely expensive our healthcare program in the United States is the best in the world. People that have money come HERE to get the best care. Moore's piece is very one sided. Did anyone watching the movie bother to research any of the "facts" in the movie? Did the amount of uninsured Americans include illegals? Did it include Americans who can buy healthcare but don't? I am not a M. Moore fan. Our healthcare system does need fixed to some degree I will agree.
