| As long as we are calling for investigations into the church of some candidates let’s not pass on Obama’s church. Quote:

| Lol How subtle can it get??Since the general opinion among blacks is that Obama is too culturally white, and of African descent, rather than African-American, to attract their interest (they seem to be graviating towards Hilary), I doubt that anything will turn up there. Nice try, though. ![]() I am sure that whatever needs to be put to light, will be. |

| I don’t see much enthusiasm here. Try this on for size. A popular white Republican attends a church that posts this on the church’s website. We are a congregation which is Unashamedly White and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the White religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent…… We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a White worship service and ministries which address the White Community. Question. Would the media ignore this or would it be beaten to death until the candidate was spending all of his time denying that he was a white supremacist and a racist? I think that anyone that’s honest knows the answer to that. I copied that from Obama’s church’s website and changed only the word black to white. Since Obama is a Democrat he gets a pass in this PC world. Only Republicans get taken to task about their religion. Trinity United Church of Christ

| I agree it's crappy, but he seems to be untouchable. Being black and well-spoken....well, it's a hard combination to beat!

| Only minimally involved in civil rights, seems to transcend race. Unbeatable. Unless McCain gets the Republican nomination. McCain has experience. With racism being what it is, Obama would have difficulty gaining respect in racism central. McCain has respect because of his Vietnam experience, his experience on Indian Affairs subcommittee, and his coming from the Four Corners nexus. Excellent compromise candidate. Can't get too far ahead of the general attitudes of the country. Highwayman, the analogy just doesn't hold. There is a lot of difference between primary racism (to protect one's privileged position) and secondary racism (a reaction to having been hurt, individually, familially, and historically). |

BTW, I don’t think that a black Republican would get a pass either.
