I ate at El Zarape the other day. I thought the experience was wonderful. This place could teach other Dodge City establishments about customer service. They had plenty of help, the wait staff was attentive, the food arrived very quickly, the meal was awesome. If you haven't eaten there, you should really give it a try.

Hubby heard on the radio this morning that tonight is their grand opening so we thought we'd try it out. It's just a couple of doors east of the delivery Pizza Hut where SW Photo used to be. Overall thought it was pretty good. There's not any decor up yet but there was some italian music playing. They weren't very busy and we had decent service. Hubby had the lasagna and I had the gnocci. Both were really good, although a tad high priced I think. At the moment they only accept cash or checks, don't have card capability I guess yet.

Give it a try, maybe it'll stick around for a while!

Did you see a cute youtube video of a baby laughing til he falls over..put it here! How about a funny picture of clowns walking on their hand backward in a circle. No politics, no arguing, no nastiness. Just have a little fun and lighten up a little! I will put the first one up. This is really cute.
I am soooo happy to be able to see his cute little face every week. Oh, and BOO to Joe Perry. He gripes about everything. He is Aerosmiths THE COMMANDER. Blah to him! This is a positive for the band. If he can't take that he isn't out front (because frankly he isn't as good) then so be it.

Yeah, spent the day in DC... had a good time. After lunch at TT (take that, MIT!), we hit the street fair (or arts and crafts show, if that's the proper name). We checked-out most of the booths and had a shaved-ice (while sitting on a brick wall in Eisenhower Park). The bricks retained the heat from the sunlight earlier in the day and nearly gave us 1st degree butt-burns even tho, by that time, it was in the shade. Ouch! We hit a few stores, bought a boat-load of things, then ended-up @ Cowtown for dinner. Good stuff there, as usual. From there, it was rodeo time... exceptional job by staff, volunteers and contestants, as always. Then, it was on to the Spoke. Good time at the outdoor/indoor dance(s). Got to visit w/Cliff, and then the place got really busy. Time for Lou and Mary to leave (Lou doesn't do "crowds" well anymore, this, even after being packed like sardines @ the rodeo!).

DC did well and gets high marks for DC Days, as usual. Citizens ought to step-up and recognize the fact that volunteerism and the efforts of their fellow citizens are what makes this annual event a success. Kudos to all who contribute their time and talents.

Thanks, DC, for making this year's event another success. Good job.

Dear Binks,

As a fellow Stones fan, could you explain my obsession with Lisa Fisher? Maybe it's because... well, nevermind...

On second thought, I guess I know why.

Why the heck hasn't this band been signed to open DC days? Either at the track or at the Arena?

I'm interested in how comedy works (or sometimes doesn't), between American & British audiences. I like quite a lot of American comedy, from the likes of Jack Benny to Sgt. Bilko way back, to George Carlin, Bill Hicks, & Mike DeStefano more recently - the list is quite long. I particularly enjoy New York Jewish humour and the NY comedy clubs.

What British comedians, if any, work with US audiences. I guess Benny Hill was popular. Any others?

For example would you find someone like Al Murray funny? His stage act is that of taking on the persona of a pub landlord - a stereotypical one, i.e., a somewhat uncouth individual who holds strong views and expresses them on a wide range of topics. Prejudice and anti-political correctness are his stock-in-trade, the very things that are the foundations of his humour and his act involves constant contact with the audience. In real life Al Murray is an educated guy far removed from his stage persona.
Al Murray - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A small example of his comdedy, this time talking about Americans - if you're offended by bad language the don't view.
