A scary Incident at Walmarts

I checked out snopes.com and couldn't find this so.........
a woman at work sent this, I have no idea if it's valid, but passing along as an FYI, you can never be too careful.

>at about 9:45PM. I loaded my groceries in my car. I wanted to put the
>cart in the cart storage place in the parking lot. I noticed a red suburban
parked next to the cart thing. I am always real careful about being next
to large vehicles in parking lots thanks to an e-mail Missy once sent me
about how women can protect themselves. I looked through the windows
of the suburban and didn't see anyone in it. I decided to put my cart
up. I walked right past the back end of the suburban. It was red with black
trim. I put my cart up and went to my car. As I was reversing, I noticed
the reverse lights were on on that suburban. I know without a shadow
of doubt that no one would have been able to get into that vehicle
without me noticing, so the man had to be already in it and probably hiding. The
suburban followed me to my apartment. I was thinking,"If this vehicle
follows me to my apartment, what will I do?" Fortunately, all the
parking spots near my car were filled, so he was forced to park toward the far
end of the parking lot. I quickly locked my car and ran for my apartment.
told my boyfriend what happened and asked him to come outside with me
to unload the groceries. As we went outside, the man in the suburban was
headed for our apartment. When he saw both of us come outside, he
quickly slouched his neck down into his jacket and followed the sidewalk to
the mailboxes. He looked inside a mailbox that wasn't his. I know it
wasn't his, because my boyfriend and I saw him look into our neighbor's
mailbox. Our neighbor is a black man; this man is white. Plus, our neighbor
was home and even had company. After he looked into the mailbox, he
quickly walked across the parking lot toward his suburban with his keys in his
hand. My boyfriend and I took the groceries inside. Then, we came
outside and talked with the neighbor about what happened. The
suburban was already gone.
Again, this was a red suburban with black trim. It was sort of a dark
red but not so dark as to be called maroon. He was parked next to a cart
storage place in Wal-Mart parking lot.
The man was not tall, maybe 5'9". He wore glasses, a baseball cap, and a hooded jacket
and had a mustache. The mustache was not very dark. Maybe his hair is light to med.
brown, or even reddish.
He nearly ran into my boyfriend as we came out of the apartment,
Scott said he smelled very strongly of cigarettes.
If you live in Dodge, please be on the look out for such a vehicle.
For all women who go shopping by themselves, please be careful in
parking lots. Please, look out for vans, SUVs, and other large vehicles if
you are alone. My boyfriend says my days of shopping at night are over.
I notified the police and am contemplating calling Wal-Mart about this.
Very scary, please be careful.

You’re right Hoarse, one can never be too careful. Regardless whether the story is true or not it serves as a reminder to be alert at all times.

When you are crossing a parking lot, day or night, for lack of any other defensive weapon carry your car key firmly gripped in your hand. The key can be used to gouge the eyes of an attacker.

Or a .380 round would take care of the problem once we have conceal and carry.

Walmart has parking lot security camera's also. Perhaps the vehicle could be ID'd.

Wal(of China)-Mart doesn't use the parking lot camera's for the security of the customers. Those cameras are there so they can keep an eye on the employees and make sure they are not gathering together to form a union for better working rights.

In fact, we should sue them as falsely identifying them as security cameras...they should be identified as what they really are...union-busting cameras.

Oh Bubba.. you are so funny. They do too use those cameras for security. I think it is a very good idea to let Wal-Mart know what happened so they are aware, and can possibly do something to protect their employees and customers if need be.
