I think it is fine to wanna be partiotic....... especially when ya got all these mexico flags flyin up in your face by students goin to US schools........ I juest think they chose the wrong clothing to "symbolize" the US....... wanna support a soldier?.......... write a letter, find a pen pal, have a campaign to send care boxes......... but camo is not supporting of anything but Arian Nation, and paint ball zealots to me - and of course those distant cousins from Ark, Tn, WVa and every redneck bro around.

TexKan I did say I could understand banning cammies, but read this sentence again;

Quote:
Students at Shaw Heights Middle School are no longer allowed to wear anything that's patriotic, including camouflage pants, because they have become a political symbol for a version of patriotism.
When I see the words “anything that’s patriotic” it means to me anything red, white and blue, stars and stripes, etc. This goes one step further and says “symbol for a version of patriotism” and that implies anything some school administrator gets a wild hair to disallow. Like maybe an American Eagle emblem on a ball cap? Cammies may be the excuse but this goes too far IMO.

The 11 million number is projected to be 30 million in about 10 years as these folks have children. That’s not counting the number that will come across from this point forward.
I doubt it takes 10 years thanks to the thoughtless idiots that felt they should talk amnesty BEFORE securing the boarder. I hear that since talk of the "amnesty bill" the boarder runners have tripled trying to get here before the bill so they can take advantage of it.

Seems to me some people were trying to say we shouldn't even be talking about a bill until our boarders are secure. Now they know why.

Anyone hear about the incident in Wichita? I heard some students were talked into protesting the immigration bill, by teachers of course, and the principal suspended them.

You’re absolutely right about fixing the border problem before talking amnesty Detector. Remember a couple of years ago when Bush brought up amnesty and there was a big rush to get here and get in on it? The members of Congress that were pushing a bill about border security without amnesty provisions knew what they were doing.

Here’s a couple of links on the Wichita story. As I expected some student protesters don’t have a clue what they’re protesting, it’s just an excuse to cut class.

http://www.kansas.com/mld/kansas/new...l/14257643.htm

This part is interesting, apparently there is some responsible leadership in the Hispanic community.

Quote:
Hispanic leaders wrote e-mails Thursday urging the students not to walk out.
I also found this in today’s edtion;

Quote:
An opportunity to compare the civil rights history of black people and Hispanic people in a way that could unite them.
http://www.kansas.com/mld/kansas/new...k/14264428.htm

Compare civil rights history? How can you attempt to compare blacks who WERE citizens being denied their rights with people that are not citizens attempting to bypass the legal process and steal citizenship rights?

Has anybody heard a rumor about a Mexican Walkout day at Excel and National? I heard that flyers were being handed out asking them to do it, kinda like they did in Los Angeles recently.

I was told the local kids are thinking of staging a protest Monday by not going to school. I was a bit offended by the remark of "You whities will see what its like without us here." Us whites? I thought this was an American issue not a race one.

I wounder how our principle will respond? Like the one in Wichita and suspend the kids?

Some of us remember what it was like before they got here. I don’t mean Hispanics because there have been Hispanics in Dodge for what, a couple hundred years? I mean Mexican nationals that showed up speaking Spanish and fly red, white and green instead of red, white and blue and speak English. I remember a lot of Hispanics growing up in the sixties. What I don’t remember is any of them that couldn’t speak English and shoving a Mexican flag in my face.

What do you think would happen if we started referring to them as “You browns”?

That is also when I heard the walkout at National and Excel is going to be.
