Flag flyin prinicpal in wrong country.....!!

I am not so worried about anyone's feelings that I would ever be stupid enough to fly another countries flag on a Public School flagpole....... this cat is an embarresment and I bet his career is in the basket right now. What happened to his allegance to the State flag that is helping pay his salary????......... These kind of irresponsible adults irritate me so....... Jerk....

Yes, it shouldn’t be there at all.

The question I’d have to ask is was it ordered taken down because a Mexican flag doesn’t belong there or because “inappropriate” flag ethics were used. Even Mexicans should be upset in the manner that it was done. The appropriate manner to fly two countries flags is on separate poles, side by side. I’d keep a watchful eye out in case they attempt to set a second pole.

Nope the general concensus on the radio is............ off with his head......... HISD isn't saying yet but they are going to discipline him........ this is TEXAS USA....... a school........ not the consolate, or the UN......... trust me there won't be any extra flag poles cause the talk is.............. the US is a country of many ethniticities.......... gonna fly a Vietnam, German, Africa, Canadian, Pakastan, and etc flag??? The guy is in big big trouble........ with all that's goin on - this won't be swept under any rug.......... I just can't believe he was soooooooooo stupid......... ya gotta follow HISD policy and leave YOUR politics at home. They don't pay you for this nonsense. My guess is he's gonna be an assist principal or teacher somewhere but not there....... he might make it thru the year but not real sure bout that....... he is in a leadership role......... HISD is livid about the protests as it is - think they are gonna reward this guy?.......... He's gonna be the example now........ as he well should be.

I'm not sure, but I would guess there is already two poles, as Texas is the only state that is allowed to fly the state flag at the same height as the US flag and not below it. If my history lessons serve me correctly that was one of the conditions that Texas made if they were to become part of the United States was that they would not fly their flag lower than the American Flag. Somebody let me know, am I right or am I wrong?

Is Texas's the only state flag allowed to fly at the same height as the US flag?
No, this is an urban legend. All state flags may fly at the same height as the U.S. flag. The U.S. flag must be on its right (the viewer's left), however. Texas's laws are consistent with those of the other states. See Texas flag code.

Well Texie, you've now shown that both math and history are not my strong points!

The stories keep getting worst. There’s been flag burnings and one place an American flag was stolen and replaced with a Mexican flag. In that case the rope was cut to prevent easy removal of the Mexican flag. They were looking at a bucket truck to reach the top of the pole to make repairs at around $500.

But here’s one to chap your backside. Thank you Principal Tom Stumpf for not having the balls to tell folks if you have a problem with the American flag, just leave. The America flag is part of the package deal of the free handouts you came here for.

Flag waving banned at Colorado school

LONGMONT, Colo. — Dozens of high school students protested a temporary school policy forbidding students from displaying the U.S. flag - as well as flags from other countries - amid racial tensions following immigration rallies.

Skyline High School Principal Tom Stumpf said American flags were brazenly waved in the faces of Hispanic students and in one case a Mexican flag was thrown into the face of another student.

"When it involves the American flag and its abuse in vilifying other people, we simply will not tolerate it," Stumpf said. "They were using the symbol derisively as misguided patriotism."

Students were warned about the policy Friday and several were suspended, although Stumpf would not provide details. Then, about 100 students protested during lunch time.

Student Dustin Carlson told Denver station KCNC-TV that he was suspended for two days.

"I'm getting suspended for it and personally I think that's uncalled for," he said. "If this country means freedom, then why can't we fly our own flag? It's ridiculous."

Thousands of high school students Friday in California, Texas, Nevada and other states protested the tough immigration laws proposed in the House. Some waved Mexican flags and carried signs saying "We are not criminals."

On Monday, about 150 high school students, including some from Skyline, protested in Longmont.

"People are taking it to a whole other level," said Laura Avitia. "I don't think they know why we were protesting."

What they found here upon going out and interviewing some of the students is

They though ALL Hispanics were going to be told to leave.

They were asked to bring and display the US flag...... but they took it upon themselves to fly the Mexico flag

They see ANY immagration resolutions as threatening.

Some didn't even know why and what they were protesting...... it was just a day out of school and they thought walking out was cool.

There was an incident where the Mexico flag was hoisted up under the US flag. Some ROTC kids took it down and burned the Mexico flag. They (ROTC) are being punished.

This is getting so crazy I think and fear serious civil unrest is right around the corner. I did hear one kid was stabbed but forget what state it was. Probably mine.

I also heard that there was a scheduled protest FOR immagration reform to be held across the street from another scheduled protest. I need to watch the news to catch up.
