A day without illegal aliens

The reaction to my idea for "A Day Without Americans" has been overwhelmingly positive and strong.

I have a feeling, based on my own sense of outrage among dedicated, hard-working, loyal, taxpaying, honest U.S. citizens, that most Americans are fed up with illegal aliens – and their new inclination to demonstrate a sense of entitlement is only making matters worse.

It's one thing to sneak into this country in search of a better way of life.

It's one thing to take up permanent residency and start dropping anchor babies.

It's one thing to take advantage of America's education system, its hospital care, it's Social Security system and its generous welfare system.

It's one thing to be part of a wave of unwanted and unwelcome and unauthorized immigration that is changing the very character of our English-speaking country.

It's one thing to be part of a population shift that has made it easy for drug dealers, criminals and terrorists to hide behind the skirts of ordinary civilians.

It's another thing, though, to act like you are doing your host country a favor by being here.

It's another thing to insult those hosts who have been so patient with you, so tolerant, so accommodating.

It's another thing to fly the American flag upside down and to hoist the Mexican flag above it.

It's another thing entirely when you start saying that you have more rights in this country than do American citizens.

And those have been the messages American citizens have been getting from these massive rallies in Los Angeles and Chicago.

Suffice it to say the illegals and their supporters are doing more to harm their cause – and alienating themselves from mainstream America – than anything the Minutemen have ever done.

Now they are threatening to hold "A Day Without Latinos."

They might be very surprised to find out how many Americans would be delighted to have at least one day without Latinos – especially without the illegal alien variety of Latinos.

In fact, Americans are pretty sick and tired of all groups who label themselves as anything but Americans – all the while insinuating themselves into our lives and our pocketbooks.

I think Americans will be grateful when May 1 comes along and we have a day without illegal aliens. I don't think the American economy will skip a beat. I don't think any Americans will lose a wink of sleep.
Do you know of anyone – with the possible exception of Archer Daniels Midland Corp. – who is honestly worried about a day without illegal aliens in America?

I don't know about you, but I could get used to such days. I'd like to sign up for more. I think that will be the attitude of most Americans as May 1 comes along – especially if those illegal aliens are out in the streets calling the rest of us racists, bigots and imperialists, again.

I don't really have a beef with Mexican peasants who try to make a way for their family by escaping the horrific conditions of exploitation and poverty that exist for them south of the border. But I do have a beef with George Bush, the U.S. Congress, the Ford Foundation, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Carnegie Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, George Soros, MALDEF, LULAC, La Raza, MEChA and the rest of the pukes trying to override the rule of law and the will of the people in my country.

So, while the activists are running "A Day Without Latinos" up their Mexican flagpole, I'm running my own idea up the U.S. flagpole.

Consider "A Day Without Americans."

I don't know exactly what it means. I don't know exactly when it is. I don't know exactly what we do or don't do. But consider the power.

Maybe it's July 4.

Maybe it's Election Day.

Maybe it's right around the corner on April 15.

All I know is that it's time for real Americans to stand up for freedom, self-government, the Constitution, independence, self-reliance, sovereignty, God and country.
We had better start planning our own day of reckoning.

That's the message we need to get across. And the only disadvantage we have in organizing such an event is the work ethic of the average American. We don't take days off from work to march in the streets and whine about our conditions. We don't participate in boycotts over this cause or that, because we are busy putting food on the table for our children and helping our neighbors. We don't shout and cry and paint our faces and act like children – we pay our taxes and keep our mouths shut and take care of ourselves and our families.

Well, it's time to take a page out of the book of our enemies – and, believe me, America, we have some real enemies inside the gates.

I'm out a lot in the schools and on the streets talking to people and from what I've gathered so far is that a lot of Hispanics are not even sure why there is a march or protest...they are just "going". They must be part of the American Idol crowd.

I agree. All this is going to prove is some people will do anything for a day off work/school. Heres what you should do if you really want to teach us a lesson.

Lets see a real 'day without Latinos' not just you getting a day off from work. No Welfare, No driving, No parties at Wal*Mart, No boarder runs(that should save 50,000 American jobs).

Hey I just thought of something! I can go out to eat and stand a far better chance of getting what I ordered on Monday.

Now a real day without Latinos could just backfire.

Here is the "Legal US Citizen's" chance to protest!!!!!

Quote:
Justice for immigrants

Local religious leaders of several denominations and Sen. Sam Brownback to meet April 18 to discuss immigration reform

An Ecumenical Day focusing on justice for immigrants will draw U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback and local religious leaders from Catholic, Episcopal, Methodist, Lutheran and Presbyterian churches to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on April 18.
The large gathering that will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m. will be open to the general public. Pre-registration is required by Monday.

A Kansas Republican, Brownback joined Democrats as part of a bipartisan coalition on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee voting recently to clear the way for 11 million illegal aliens to seek U.S. citizenship.

The committee voted against controversial proposed criminal penalties for illegal immigrants and any U.S. citizens who assist them, a proposal in a House-approved bill that a Houston Catholic newspaper said "shames the United States."

Brownback will discuss the immigration issue during the Ecumenical Day, and United Methodist Bishop Scott Jones will engage the senator in a conversation relating to points made in the Oct. 18, 2005, Interfaith Statement of Immigration issued by a national interfaith network.

Other speakers will include Catholic Bishop Ronald M. Gilmore of the Diocese of Dodge City; the Rev. Don Owens, Presbyterian General Presbyter; Episcopal Bishop James Adams Jr.; and the Rev. John Kreidler, representing Lutheran Bishop Gerald Mansholt.

The Ecumenical Day will begin with registration and a continental breakfast at 9:30 a.m., followed by a welcome and gathering prayer. "Voices of Immigrants" will be presented by several immigrants who will tell their stories, among them former Garden City Mayor and present City Commissioner Juana "Janie" Perkins.

Debbie Snapp, program director for Catholic Social Service, will offer her words of welcome and introduce the video "Dying to Live," which will be shown at 11:30 a.m.

Bishops of the various denominations and the general presbyter will represent the "Voices of Churches" in a panel discussion of the immigration reform issue at 1 p.m., followed by the "Voices of Congress" presented by Brownback and Jones.

Adams will facilitate the "Voices of Community" panel discussion at 3:15 p.m. Panelists will include the executive director of Mexican-American Ministries, Penny Schwab; Superintendent of Dodge City Public Schools Gloria J. Davis; Dodge City Chamber of Commerce President Bob Wetmore; and Ford County Sheriff Dean Bush.

The local religious leaders issued a statement regarding the Ecumenical Day, stating, "Kansas and especially Southwest Kansas has received a large number of immigrants from northern Mexico and Central America.

"This has changed the look of our schools, grocery stores, churches, and communities. People have come, as immigrants always have, in search of a better life for their families. They come with a desire to work and to enjoy the benefits of living in a society known for acknowledging and rewarding hard work and industriousness.

"We see families who want to be united with their loved ones," the statement reads. "We see the deaths of hundreds of people trying to enter the United States across its Southwest deserts.

"Nevertheless, they come to a rural society that is also in the throes of great change and even diminishment. The immigrants come and feel displaced from home and all that is familiar. They come to a people who feel displaced from the familiar rural culture of small farms and thriving small communities.

"We see, in this time of enhanced security fears in the United States, precious immigration resources being diverted for otherwise law-abiding people instead of being focused on those who really mean us harm."

The leaders of major denominations in southwest Kansas agree with the majority of people in the United States that "the country’s immigration system is broken," the statement continues.

The religious leaders said they "invite members of our churches, other Christians and people of good will to gather, to listen to the voices of immigrants and one another, to learn, share, and pray about the complex immigration situation in the United States and Southwest Kansas."

U.S. Catholic bishops are calling for comprehensive immigration reform that will address the root causes of migration.

The bishops want to see legalization of the undocumented, regardless of national origin; a temporary worker program with worker protections, just wages and benefits; family-based immigration reform which reduces waiting times for family reunification; and restoration of due process protections for immigrants.

National Public Radio spoke succinctly about the continuing congressional immigration reform debate Wednesday, describing it as "Congress debating the most sweeping overhaul of U.S. immigration law in two decades. The Senate's plan includes a guest-worker program and a path to citizenship for the millions of illegal immigrants already in the country. It is considerably more favorable to undocumented workers than legislation passed by the House in December."
http://www.dodgeglobe.com/stories/04...60408001.shtml

The bold print in the next to last paragraph is the part that chaps my ass. Maybe we should get our signs and wave our flags in protest of this organization that Sen. Sam Brownback is supposed to be attending!

Personally I don't want to fly a mexican flag upside down, rightside up or sideways. The only flag I want anything to do with is the stars and bars that's my flag.
