Sympathy for the devil

Americas strength and weakness is our knack for feeling sorry and wanting to help others. Many nations even laugh at Americas want to jump on disaster and give aid even at a huge cost to its own people.

I don't have a problem with it other than America seems to have a problem distinguishing between a good cause and bad cause. Our motto is throw money at it and let the locals sort out if it was a good idea or bad.

There's some serious problems with this immigration issue that the sympathetic are ignoring. I'm as sympathetic as the next American but I don't like my generosity being taken advantage of and thats what I see going on here.

Why now after years of immigrants flooding America has it become an issue? Because even the sympathetic are now starting to feel taken advantage of. Americans are not starting to feel these immigrants are a threat to America and are voicing what many have felt for years.

One problem I have is these people are criminals plain and simple. Sure if you jaywalk it is a crime but who isn't guilty of such minor crimes. Now if you day after day knowing break that law you are indeed a criminal. If you get caught breaking that law you probably just get a warning but break that law day after day and you will and should be punished.

It ticks me off to no end that we are looking at rewarding those who have been breaking the law the longest. These people have had years to make thing right and instead chose to break the law. People that come here illegally in the first place are the ones who just didn't want to take the time and effort to do the right thing. This alone speaks of their character and these are the ones we're choosing to let stay?

Another problem I have is the lack of respect for the host. I see now with the protests and American flags that someone has clued them in on the bad idea of flying the Mexican flag. They play on the American weakness of being sympathetic by claiming to be looking for a better life yet they want to live that same life here in America. They disrespect America by putting their Mexican way above the American way and yet stand in line for that American handout.

I'm sure, as history has shown, we will cater to the newcomers and show sympathy for the devil all the while blaming our leaders for letting it happen. This is an issue about criminals. Knowing few Americans will sympathize with people breaking the law they play on Americas sympathy for a better life, something most Americans can relate to, playing the race card and trying to justify breaking the law by playing on Americas economy.

I hear the protesters are trying to get organized and have been told Americans are gullible but not stupid and patriotism is high as of 911. Flying the Mexican flag while desecrating the American flag is a bad idea for criminals because we look like the terrorists they see on TV. Problem is most of the criminals refuse to fly an American flag so they have compromised on the white flag of peace. PEACE? what does that have to do with this protest?

White flag of peace? Has someone declared war on Americans?

This is not a Hispanic, Latino, Mexican or even immigration issue. This is about illegal immigrants and I have no sympathy for those who willing and continuously break the law. They should be punished for breaking the law not rewarded. At the very least they should be made to go to the end of the line of other immigrants legally looking for a better life.

In a post-9/11 world we are painfully aware that we need to have control over who comes across our boarders. We are more aware that it’s not just people coming into our country but drugs, weapons, and God knows what else.

There was outrage about a respected company from overseas contracting to do business in our ports, obey our laws and hire American citizens for workers. The same people that raised Hell about that want to reward folks that are not citizens and broke our laws in order to work here.

We are expected to except people that make little effort to speak our language, disrespect our flag, help themselves to public assistance programs that were put in place to help our poorest citizens and if we complain we get called racist.

There are millions of folks that got in line, filled out the papers and jumped through the hoops to come here the right way. There are millions more in line waiting their turn. We were all taught that it’s bad behavior to cut into a line. The punishment for cutting into line was being sent to the back of the line. It still should be and even our children know that.
