Angry t-ball

What a joke! I recently tried to sign my child up for t-ball. Theres a waiting list. Usually I recieve a flyer notifing me of the sign up this year I did not recieve one. You would think instead of a waiting list maybe they would just make up another team.

They probably only have a limited amount of space for the teams to play the schedule and a limited amount of coaches.

Actually, they are hurting big time for parent-coaches this year. Matter of fact, in a letter they sent out, no one volunteered to coach when they signed their kids up for t-ball.

I bet if you volunteer to coach you child would not have any trouble finding a team. Everybody wants their kid to play - but no one wants to coach. You don't have to be a baseball expert to coach a t-ball team. Send a note home with the first practice about how PARENTS need to behave - kids are rarely a problem. If they want to bellyache about things are done - they are automatically an assistant coach. Shuts them all up.

That's always been a problem. Gettin involved is the right answer. Coach a team. It's great family time and in Tball it's not about winnin........ it's about playin. Go enjoy your little ones while ya can. It's memories that your kids will take with them always. I didn't coach but was at every practice - every game and was the secretary of the association. The first female in an all male club I might add. Hell they even got me a "visor" instead of a B B cap. Many good memories and the best part is ya know first hand who your kids are mingleing with and thier parents. It actually is better for the parent than for the kid!! The kids have fun the parents get info............ ya need all ya can get now days. My kids couldn't do anything without someone I knew seein them......

My mom was a T-Ball coach for our team back in the 60's. She even made our team shirts.

Go Buffalo's

Come to think of it she was also our den mother through scouts. Hum, she was either having a good time or keeping a close eye on us.

Coaching kids leaves you memories never to be forgotten. However, be prepared to be a "babysitter", and to be bitched at, complained about, told what a crappy job you do, and so forth. However, TeeBall is the best. It gets worse as you advance up in age---you and the kids both!!

Ain't that da truth!! Tball was a blast - LL left alot to be desired. Was glad when the soccer coach called and asked us if we would move the youngest to soccer. Worried that it might not be a good move but the soccer coach was one that taught skills - we went to state for 7 years and never had a parent bitch. Charlie didn't allow it and it was about playin fair. That team coulda whipped up on many teams but Charlie always told em - if your ahead enough that you know your a better team - there's no need to rub it in. He always stayed bout 4 goals ahead and at times told the kids to stop makin goals - just play defense. Was quite a coach. Not many like that around. Youngest still has this passion for sports and plays them all.
