443 teaching their political views

I was quite upset last week when my son came home and told me the teachers at the middle school were telling them what to say and do on May 1. I don't send my kids to school to be political pawns for the school system.

I thought it may just be one radical, but I'm told that 3 different teachers prompted students what to say and what to do so as to not look stupid like they did last time, and not know why they were protesting. If it were to have been only 1 teacher I would have taken my complaint to the principal, but it seems the school is not just behind the illegal protest, but encouraging it.

Cain, if you didn’t know before now welcome to the club of folks that are tired of the public school system run by the politically correct liberal leftists. We call it indoctrination instead of education and it’s why the movement for school vouchers, private schools and home schooling is gaining ground.

By expressing your dissatisfaction you have earned the right to be labeled an extremist, a fundie, or whatever the slur of the day is for folks that really can think for themselves by the folks that will accuse you of not being able to think for yourself.

I don't know if it will help, but everybody should go to www.dodgeglobe.com and click on the Globe Exchange and ask that the Globe have a reporter look into this and write a story about it for the paper. This is what I wrote to maybe give you some ideas on what to write.

Quote:
Why is the School District getting involved with the May 1st protest? By that, I mean that the middle school has many teachers instructing students what to say about the protest if they are asked. The school is not only supporting the protest, but encouraging it. Why does the school have any right telling kids how they should think and act about a political subject. Also, the protest would require school aged children to skip school if they attend. Why would the school be supporting truancy? A reporter should look into this and write a story in the paper about it to let the taxpayers of the Dodge City School District know how their tax dollars are being used to educate the children of the community.

Edited because I feel I was unjustly harsh on the school system. I no longer have kids going to our school system.

I say go ahead and speak your mind. I don't have kids so of course I don't have kids in USD 443. But I do pay property taxes on my house and cars and a portion of my taxes go to help support USD 443 so I feel if you pay taxes you are allowed to speak your mind.

Great Idea Bubba, but I don't know about writing to the Globe, Maybe The Hutch New, not the Globe, for I don't think they could do an impartial story, for if any one hasn't notice the Globe front page is covered with pictures of Latinos lately, unless I am missing the hidden message here

Bubba,

I really doubt that the Globe would do a story on this issue. It is to close to admitting that anything is wrong here in Dodge City.

Yeah, I kind of thought that too. I also sent the same thing to the Hutch News. Maybe they will do a little investigative reporting. I guess time will tell.
