| An officer might be in the same radius, but also might be on his way to another call, unable to identify which vehicle the noise is coming from, or not able to get into a position to pull the offender over. So dont get too mad at us! I agree, and I think all my coworkers would also, that the high power car stereos are very annoying when the bass is cranked so loudly everyone in the neighborhood hears it. I love loud music - I like hearing a good bass line. But I also know there is a limit and I dont go cruising around with my stereo up over even half way.
If you are having ongoing problems with your neighbors, document each time you call the police about them and then the music is turned down. After you have three or four documented times, call the police the next time it happens and ask to speak to an officer. You can be the complainant on a citation - but be prepared to go to court when you neighbor decides to fight it. You will have the documentation you need to show this is an ongoing thing. Just remember the officer cannot testify on your behalf because they didnt see or hear it.
Anyway, bottom line, I agree about the annoying stereos around Dodge. However, are the people that are doing the offending also the same people that read these forums or the Daily Globe? I think not...I think the letter was more preaching to the choir. |
