I usually bank online.... but had to call the automated service yesterday

my Bank ....BANK OF AMERICA.... 1.800.432.1000

Keep entering other options until you get to one option... SEND MONEY TO MEXICO...

I know I dont have to tell you this....cause we all know ...but its worth repeating ....
These damn invaders do not intend to stay here , and become citizens, looking for the american dream ,and contribute to our way of life...they are here only to depleat our programs for the poor....and live a good life while they are here....then hightail it back to their poor country...with a pocket full of money...they are buying homes back there...and paying cash....(know that for a fact, for one individual)...NOW IM FIRED UP ALL OVER AGAIN...gonna send BANK OF MEXICO UH AMERICA.......a hot email....

The bank recognizes how much money is going to Mexico and it's BOA believe me...they get their little cut for doing that service.

Is there any support for the idea of a 10% (or more) tax surcharge on non-citizens sending money out of the country?

you betcha!!!........ IN FACT a 20% tax sounds more like what our taxes actually are. I believe for those that want to eliminate the IRS - they advocate a 20% flat tax. Sooooooo I figger since most the characters don't file with IRS........... hit the money goin back home with a "flat tax".......

Would that include any money that people put in foreign banks for tax purposes?

Why not? They can change the existing law on backup withholding to make it apply to all foreign exchange transactions where the wiring party has not filed an appropriate tax id number with the IRS. That would keep business' from getting taxed on funds sent to oversea's subsidiaries (or parents). And best of all it would be non-discriminatory as the payor of the tax would be able to report it as a tax payment when the year end return is filed and it would not single out Latino or Asian immigrants.
