Good AC business???

OK - The sad news came last night bout 9pm - my AC is makin so much noise that it might wake the neighbors!!

Since I'm down here and not there - I'm gonna need an HONEST AC business to maybe repair maybe replace the central air in my house. Any recomendations from anyone? I know there is Weber and Stewart - but don't know how good any of them are - I may need a moment of silence for my almost 30 year old unit!!

I still have my DC phone book for all these type of issues - thanks for the reference. My sissy looks out after my place - she didn't exactly describe the noise just said it was LOUD - so I told her to shut the AC off cause I didn't want the house to burn down. She goes by weekly to flush the toilet and run hot water thru the tank - her hubby was a plumber so keeping water run thru the lines is something we know you should do in a sitting house. AC on the other hand is pretty much in the dark to us.

We had good luck with Jim Ray from Minneola. He fixed ours and didn't charge too bad out the you know what. I think we paid like $200 or right around there. I know some friends of mine had to replace theirs and weber was the cheapest because of the system they had they had to upgrade becuase they didn't make that model anymore. Jim's phone # is 855-4900 I did all the calling and pricing and he didn't screw me around because I was a female. He was straight foward and honest about pricing and what might/might not be wrong with it.

Well thanks - I tried and left messages for the Allen guy - never heard from him - probably thought I was just messin with him and didn't wanna call Texas to find out. I did get a committment from Omo and called another guy but he was just down right wierd on the phone. He advertises "free estimates" but that's only good if I buy a NEW product. He just kinda left a slimey impression with me. Plus he was too busy answerin his cell phone on my dime that I decided maybe he too thought I was just messin with him. Lord it's tough to be out of state and need service.

My sis used to work with Omo but my dealings with them have never been that memorable - but the quoted price was $10 cheaper than the FREE estimate that was gonna cost me $69 cause what they advertise and what they do are different.

To top it off if I get the repair done they still charge the diagnostic fee....... wierd. Round here the fee is only collected if ya don't do the repair.

Great news - for me!!!!

Was a stick in the unit!! - I know, $60 to find a stick!!! My sissy can't don't know nuthin bout AC or the such. Was worth the $60 for the good news when you are 700 miles south of the problem!! Now I gotta close off the doggie door cause sumthin decided to crawl in my shed and die - thank goodness for yard men!! They are cheaper than AC fellas!! Ya know I think it's time to sell!! Between sticks and dyin critters - this week just sucks!!
