Wendy's $1000 giveaway at the Civic Center

Anyone else go to this? Well I didn't win(had 4 numbers) but I did see something interesting while I was there.

I heard overheard someone next to me make a comment to "look at the crowd." I took a glance at what seemed to be a near full house when the same person said "No Latinos." I hadn't really noticed but they were right. There were virtually no Latinos in the house.

Now I would have thought like at most public gatherings in dodge they would have represented the majority of the crowd. Whats up with the lack of Latinos at the event?

Just be glad you didn't have to share tight seating with 15,000 undisciplined kids and thier folks that don't seem to understand that there is a standard of behavior that should be adhered to when in public. Hell I wouldn't be complainin!!!

TexKan,

I'm with you on that one. I was at J.C. Penny's on Sat. I was trying to buy some new shoes. The place was over run with Mexican's and their families. Kids were running wild with no supervision. Parents who could not speak english held the line up while 5 year olds tried to translate for them.

While I'm thinking of it, did anyone read today's paper and see the opinion page and the artical written by this Celia Pineiro lady. I'm almost sick of her and her opinions. Today she said the burning heat of the sun does not discriminate between the documented immigrants or undocumented immigrants. Give me a break lady, they are illegal aliens. There are thousands of them in Dodge and most are documented but with illegal papers. They are law breakers, violating the laws of our country.

I'm all for legal immigrants coming to the U.S.A. I'll be the first to welcome them as long as they do it legally and follow the laws that are in place.

Yeah I'm with you Mike - I see it all day - they will be in WIC gettin thier free milk and macaroni and those kids are all over. Then they come to my clinic and I enforce the "keep your kids on a leash" rule. I had a 2 yo in clinic last week that I laid out face flush to the floor cause I literally mowed her to the ground. I didn't see her and her Dad was supposed to be keepin up with her. I came out of the office and BAM!!....... poor thing - she's real lucky I didn't step on her (which I almost did after she fell)........ he picked her up and when I came out the next time she was still runnin around. Must be nice to consider your childs safety with such non chalantness....... course when ya pop em like rabbits...... what's ONE kid???............ And I'm real sick of that moron Celia....... she can take her tosatadas and go south.... so long as she keeps goin once she hits Texas..........

Okeydoke. I'm big enough to admit that Ms. Pineiro's remark didn't make sense. Of course the burning heat of the sun does not discriminate. We aren't talking about the burning heat of the sun. If we were, it would be a different story. We're talking about documented/undocumented. Has she spent too many days under the sun???
