Ya'll gonna have a long way to come party at my spread...... but ya can use my DC digs if ya'll turn out the lights and empty the trash!!!......... I like the tipsy tote idea - down here they'll tow your car 2 miles for $25 on new years - it ususally free. Lots of bars got "call a ride"......... I think doin the breathalizer thing is a good public service idea but then your askin the PD to look the other way when it comes to PI.......... can't quite bring myself to do that. Bottom line is if ya are drivin ya need to stay sober. If ya wanna go and get smashed - hire a limo and do it in style. The secret is to be PRO active, make plans, and then have a plan B........... nuthin worse than a drunk worried bout his ride........... easier to stay sober or fork over the limo fare. DC don't have taxis do they???

Did I just read somethin' about a party at my house? Come on up!!! We'll figger somethin' out! But there'll be no drunk driving. It's hard enough to figure out how to get into/out of my subdivision sober. Wouldn't wanna try it drunk - probly end up in the pool! We have a big screen so we could find a rodeo somewhere. But I agree totally - it's too damned hot! Let's do it in September. Oops. My calendar's full this September already. Next one, OK?

Yeah....I was kinda ponderin' that one. Did he mean Dodge Drivers as in "drivers who are in Dodge" or as in "drivers of Dodge vehicles"? I dunno - neither of those seem to work at all. We all know Ford trucks rock! And the drivers Lurker was tryin' to round up couldn't read nor speak English, so they wouldn't be obeying any laws.....that doesn't sound reasonable to me.

Hey - let's pick it apart. Can we can we can we please??

Taxi drivers who no-speeke-de-engleesh are the best to confess your sins to... only the camera/HBO knows wtf you're talking about.

Dodge wants tourism; guarantee ample taxi's and no dui's and a huge party....

Hum... Nah, the tourism bored will never figger that one out.

As a matter of fact, yes we do have taxis. The guy who is running the service seems pretty smart. They have a couple white blazers running around, and also offer a limo and they have two sharp black Caddy's.

If memory serves, their logo on the the blazers is "Cheaper than a DUI"

It would make the Police Dept look better in the community by doing this instead of the attitude that they are just out to bust the drinkers. Maybe even local business could sponsor the rides home for those that drank a few too many.

Bubba...the police aren't "busting' people they are enforcing the law. The way I see it is that anytime they arrest a drinking driver they are doing a goodwill public service by possibly saving at least one life if not more. Last time I checked you have to be 21 to drink so arrangements should not have to made to get you home. We call it the DD program. If you plan to drink don't plan to drive. It's called individual responsibility. I think seeing the police running a check point for those that are STUPID and IRRESPONSIBLE enough to drive makes them look great. Hopefully they will remove some of those people from the streets (at least until they get a lawyer). Too bad the penalty for DWI isn't a lot stiffer. Public awareness...I think most of the public is aware it is a crime to DWI.
