I'm freezin!

It's colder than a witch's....well, it's cold! And yesterday it was warm! And my pilot light won't light on my furnace - had to call our trusty furnace man (my step-daughter's fiance) and he's not here yet and it's 59 degrees in here! - why does sh__ always go wrong when Hubby's out of town???

Does this ever happen to any of the other gals? I called the big guy - I just wanted to know where the pilot light was. One of those electronic thingies. He said it would be easier to call Kirk. Easier, yes. But it doesn't get done as fast.

Have my choice of 3 cars this week.....the pickup's out in the cold. Won't touch it. My little car is in the garage, but only has enough gas to get to the gas station and it's too cold to pump gas (hubby didn't want to do it Sunday). His little car has some gas in it, but if I run it out of gas, too, I WILL have to pump gas in the cold. Oh, woe is me!!!!!

Omigod - I just went down to let the dog out and it's snowing again! I'm gonna freeze!!!!

Is your oven gas or electric? If electric turn it up to about 350 or 400 with the door open should at least warm the kitchen.

Leaving the door open can damage some oven thermostats. Unless the oven's vented outside, which is highly doubtful, you'll get the same number of BTU's released into your kitchen with the door closed....

Bake a factory pie or casserole if you want a great smell too.. .

You'd think. But I'd really rather just complain!!! Got all the way down to 55 when the fiance showed up. Really nice kid. Who knew it was an electonic ignition??? Who knew there was no pilot light!!! So he fixed whatever it was and it's warming up. Will take a while, but I think my hands aren't really frostbitten like I thought. Nice she decided to marry somebody handy! Not bad to look at either!

Well, that's another good idea! Have I mentioned I don't cook? Well, I do turkey dinners with the trimmings, but I really don't cook that much. Furthest thing from my mind. I wanted to stop for tacos on the way home, but I wanted to get home and get warm. Ha ha on me!!!

Wal(of China)-Mart does have some very nice casseroles that are ready to bake and they "left over" just as nicely.

The key words are "ready to bake". When I decide I'm hungry, I want food RIGHT NOW! Hubby (bless his pea-pickin' male heart) usually has dinner waiting for me when I get home or we go out. He's got me so lazy, I can hardly lift my own fork! I got up late this morning because I forgot to set the alarm - he usually reminds me. I guess I'm just getting feeble!!! I didn't know this kind of life existed when I lived in Dodge! I thought woman's work was cleaning and makin' babies!

The ready to bake usually take 45 minutes to an hour. By that time, I've had my hands in potato chips, chocolate, cereal and just about anything else I can find. Then I'm not hungry when the baking's done!

Definitely not ready for the cold and the wind. I'm gonna work from home tomorrow. Save the gas for another day. When it's warmer. And maybe hubby will be home to fill up the tanks!

I had a mean old Aunt that called that Piecing. She wouldn't let us do that and I don't remember her being a good cook either; but I still hold out for the main course.

Had a lady friend who was convinced by her children that she wasn't a good cook. The problem was that she'd let them eat candy before dinner...

Have you ever eaten anything after a handful of Skittles and thought it was good?

The best thing is while I'm cooking i get to smell the food and it makes me hungrier. Then when it's ready to eat the food is that much better. If I ate anything before meal time my mom would kick my butt up between my shoulders.

Oh please!! It ain’t that cold. A buddy of mine spent 18 months in northern Greenland at a DEW line radar site. The site sat on a chunk of ice a mile deep. He said you know its cold when you take a leak and it cracks the urinal. Check this out, it will make you feel warm just knowing you ain’t there.
