Well I saw the Oprah road trip show today when she was in Dodge...reflected well on the City. Sounded like she had great fun.

Did you watch the same Oprah I did? She did nothing but bitch the whole time she was in Kansas. Now half the world thinks we are nothing but miles and miles of Stockyards, Cows, A-hole Truckers and of course the FABULOUS Dodge House. Thats what they will remember. They won't get to remember BOOTHILL cuz it wasn't shown or mentioned. I thought the whole thing reflected badly towards Kansas in general.

Yes - she pissed and moaned about everything - but Dodge City was cast in a favorable light - which it usually isn't. Most things I have read/seen about DC comment on the foul smell from the rendering/packing plants, etc.

Fortunately, we get to smell cow crap instead of the smog, sewers, and exhaust gases of the big city!! On the other hand, the rendering smell is supposed to be removed from the air by the packing plants air scrubbers! At least that is what we were told when they wanted to build here. Sounds like they have a design or operational problem, either that or they BS'd us like usual!

You really expected something nice out of her after visiting this dusty armpit of a town. I suprised she was as nice as she was. We have nothing here to talk about except stinky cows, the weather and, wind. It's 3 hours from Dodge to anywhere and then you're still nowhere. I could go on and on about the nothingness that is Dodge and most of the mid-west but I have to stop because of a bad depression coming on. Sorry but I grew up where it was nice and I'm sad that my children are growing up here. If moving were an option at this point I would leave in a heartbeat. I have to go sulk now!!

I don't fault Oprah for her opinion of "the smell", after all, she's had issues with beef for awhile now

That's cause she looks like an "old cow" (black angus), and her crap stinks just like everyone else's!! I was rather appalled by her attitude and her nasty mouth-----after all , this was on National TV!!!! Oh well, whadda ya expect from a "ghetto groupie"-----------
