OK, I wondered who that was - I saw that it was made out to Walter so I took it up to the Army recruiting office this morning and slid it under his door so he can endorse/cash it. Thanks MITUSA! I'll add your name to the list.

I endorsed it and mailed it back...I too was going to leave it back in your mailbox but like MIT USA I was afraid to get close to your house. I didn't know if your security camera's would capture the video of me being blown up by one of your mines you probably have in your yard...I don't wanna be a u-tube video...LOL.

Looks like we are pretty close to the goal. Dillons is only going to give us the break on pricing if we raise $1000.00. They want me to secure the order on Monday or Tuesday.

We've done very good so far but kinda slowed down today. Sure hope we make our target.

I have emailed the news stations to see if they can help us by running a news feature.

Also, I plan on getting some pictures of us in action delivering the turkey dinners and sharing them with all of you so you can see how your donations have helped changed the lives of some needy families at Thanksgiving this year.

Anyone else out there have a few bucks they can spare for this worthwile cause? Any amount is appreciated. if so, click here.

I am probably going to get bashed here and might be ranting in the wrong thread, but here goes. I am all for sharing and giving for the holidays to families that need it, but I am wondering what we are going to be saying about who gets the dinners & fixings for the holidays. What are we all going to do if some of them are given to illegals when we all know alot of them are SRS patrons. Just asking.

I think that was covered - wasn't it Tee? We are giving to Legal folks right? I understand that feeling - Not just "legal" to use SRS............ cause we DO know how that system works.........There are plenty of Legal Immigrants thaT probably do need assistance but I'm with Old Hag....... Help the Legal and Elderly first. I do think it is important not to forget those that are long standing DC residents that are having a tough time - that is a big majority of the elderly in Dodge. They may have a nice house but no money. The taxes are eating them alive and they do without just to pay the taxes.......

We are giving to the truley needy.

What if there are starving families out there seeking legal status that would benefit from a Thanksgiving dinner...Should we ignore them? I am not sure that would be morally right and I am not sure that we could count on participation from the Crisis Center, SRS, or Dillons if we made such a stipulation. I have been struggling with this all day, and have received PM's on both sides of the issue.

This "legal" thing has stirred contraversary among the memebrs on both sides of the fence. Some members have asked for a refund. If you want your money back please let me know. I will be happy to comply.

I realize your point and am in agreement that dinners should go to the truley needy. The elderly will be included. You will have my word on that. All I can say is this; The people comprising the lists know who is just working the system and who is truley in need. We don't want to give DB a black eye if the press picks this up do we?

Please know that I will be responsible and choosy about how the funds will be directed. Feel feel free to PM me if you want to add your 2 cents or to request a refund.

If they are looking for how folks feel on the immigration issue - that can be found through out this forum. I'm not worried about this thread offending someone from the news. We have never been censored for feeling the way we feel. We do altho have a choice in how our money is spent. It's an honest request and no one should be made to feel bad or for that matter they shouldn't feel they are giving the board a "black eye". We are who we are and we shouldn't be made to be anyone else for this event.
