DISH NETWORK vs COX CABLE

AFN has actually gotten alot better than what it was. They now offer a sat service that gives you access to 10 digital TV channels and several digital radio signals. It's still not up to date, but I can catch the occasional Chiefs game, so it's not too bad. When I was in Germany the first time back in 97, there was only one AFN station for Europe, and it was soooo bad.

I can't believe that I missed this thread. I am currently looking for another provider for my television viewing needs. About a month and a half ago Cox managed to transpose two numbers in my checking account (admitted by them) and caused my payment to almose be late. When the finally figured out what they had done, three weeks later, they corrected the mistake and decided to pull another $42.00 out of my checking account along with my regular payment. They offered to send me a refund check which would take 3-6 weeks to process and get to me, or I could just let them keep the money and apply it to my next bill that would be out in 2 weeks. How convenient for them. I looked at both Dish Network and Direct TV and I am staying away from Direct TV simply because everything I have seen from them says I have to sign a contract for a year. After reading this thread, I think I will be giving the Dish folks a call to see what the real deal is on pricing here in Wichita. I am just one of those that doesn't like change. Of course, Cox probably counts on that.

I am also looking for another provider for my high speed internet since I get that from Cox as well. I have a friend that has Pixius and he has been very happy with them so far.

Yes, my internet went up about $2 and the cable went up about $3.

I currently have Cox cable with all the bells and whistles. I was just wondering if I went to Dish if I would save money and have a better service.

I also noticed a bump in the bill last month. Army, you will have to let me know what you think of Dish if you switch. I am going to try and find a place where I can go talk to someone face to face about switching this weekend.
