Lookin for Camelot

Today is the anniversary of President Kennedy's assasination. I was listening to an interview done with a then important person that was responsible for the planning of the Texas visit. He had something to do with the then Gov Connely. He was saying how Nellie Connely (who passed recently) didn't want to have the parade at all. Not because she feared anyone's safety. She was worried that Mrs Kennedy would only have 20 minutes from the parade end to get to the first event scheduled in Dallas. She didn't want to rush Mrs. Kennedy. The fella being interviewed noted how he was more concerned with Nellie than with her husband - cause she carried more weight.

Just thought it interesting that in this day and age of cut throat politics and rudeness........ wouldn't it be nice to find some Camelot again?

Sounds to me like ol’ Nel was more worried about her social events than giving the lowly public access to a beloved President. What could be more rude than to invite a man to visit and mend fences them send him home in a box?
Camelot then was just like the original Camelot, merely a façade to hide the truth about the aristocracy from the common man.

I obviously wasn't talkin to you - but bless your heart for respondin! What an interestin "take" you have on life - happy Thanksgiving to ya darlin!

I doubt very seriously if anyone intended him to be sent home in a box...... and I don't believe Nellie (God rest her soul) would agree with ya there. Course you are entitled to your opinion - I do fear however you missed my point entirely........ why am I surprised?........ oh scuse me - I'm not!

Bush created his own sins. It's just easy to find the parallels.

LBJ wanted lots of folks in a box - I don't think LBJ was smart enough to pull that one off - I still miss the Camalot days of politics - They were easier to tolerate.......Folks are just as ruthless now - I just liked it better when everyday wasn't a scandal or a fight.......... Hell they still do what they want to do anyhow. Politics don't listen any better to the voter now than they did then.

The Camelot Thingy

The only thing that I liked about the JFK period, is when Norma Jean Baker sang "Happy Birthday Mr. President". Now, that was HOT.
Many Pinkocoms realy mucked up the after facts.
