| Questions about area schools Does anyone know about the smaller town schools? I'm looking to move to a smaller district for educational and safety reasons. More on the safety reason. Okay I need to know about special-ed. I have a MR child. And a middle school student. Now we understand about the safety part. I've been looking at Jetmore and Hanston, does anyone have any info? I have tried to access them on line but there's nothing about specEd. Please help. Thanks      |

| Hanston consolidated with Ransom(?). Don't let your child ride the bus in Jetmore. jk

| I would think if a school recieves federal funds which all public schools do that they are required to have the ability to accomodate specail needs kids - be it physical or mental. I would be more concerned over who's teaching - what's the training of whose teaching, how many are there - is my kid gonna be lost ina crowd with kids that are just "discipline" problems or am I gonna have other children like my child.? Disicpline issue kids don't belong in "special needs" - they belong in detention........ Make sure your child is safe in the classroom - the rest will fall into place.

| I know that there a getting to be quite a few families that send their kids to Minneola for school. I don't know about Minneola's special Ed classes...

| Hanston did consolidate with Pawnee Heights. I wouldn't reccomend going there. Jetmore isn't too bad. Minneola is a good place to go to school & they do have a good SpEd program. |

| area schools Dragonfly, have you checked into the Cimarron school district? They have some dodge City kids going there and they are installing security camera's at the Jr-High School. The new principle was at Dodge City High School until this year. There are places to rent and buy in Cimarron also. just an idea..  |
