| It hit about an hour or two early - it will destroy any semblance of a rush hour here. I left my office for what usually is a 25-30 minute drive home at 3. I got home at 4:15. The interstate was pretty OK - just some slush starting to accumulate and ice (not rain) falling pretty heavily. Would have been home much, much sooner if all the (other) idiots would have stayed off the road and let me through!! I was kinda surprised that the slush was forming even though there was plenty of traffic. Then in a huge jam on the opposite side of the road, I saw two salt 'n sand trucks. Stuck in traffic. Yep - they work well there. The exits off the interstate were the worst and 2nd worst were all the rest of the streets as businesses closed and all the employees were trying to get home at once. Glad to be home - and warm - will be more than happy to eat soup for dinner and not call out for a pizza!

| Down here in Fort Worth they are calling for 2 inches of ice and then up to 6 inches of snow on top of it by tomorrow. IF that happens, just about everything is gonna be closed down. I am praying for it to happen!!! |

| Well most may not be, but I am. From good ole SW Kansas, we know how to handle the winter. Now, if I was in Kansas I wouldn't be afraid to go driving, but here if it happens I believe I will stand on my porch and watch the wrecks, lol. |

| You are right there Red - lots of snowbirds in Texas but not many from Texas go north in winter. Besides we have a great influx of parrots from South of the border and they REALLY can't drive. They cancel school round here when it's real cold - throw in some rain and there are just too many folks out there lookin for a free paint job and body work! I stay far far away from any cars. Good thing we got 6 lane highways........ they need that much room for skiddin!

| They had alot of accidents around Wichita today, some were fatal. Cars upside down, sideways, trucks jack-knifed; people just won't slow down and drive a safe speed in icy weather. |

| Snowing pretty good outside presently. It will be a joy driving today as the "South of the Borders" play bumper cars!  |
