For all you who will try to give up smoking for the New Year: I was a horribly addicted smoker, with 2-3 packs my normal day habit and even more when I went out drinking. Woke up in the middle of the night to have a few puffs, you get the idea. Years ago, when I was talking about how hard it was to quit to an "old timer" (probably younger than I am now) he said you have to give yourself credit. If you want to smoke just as much as you want to quit, most of the time the obvious benefits of quitting will push you over the 50-50 edge.
Anyway, I quit for good a few months after that; of course it "helped" that I coughed up some pink phlegm one morning while going to work and made a deal with The Man that if He didn't kill me then I would stop. And I did. That was in 1972 and I haven't smoked tobacco since.
However, I've got a brother-in-law who just can't stop. Devilish weed, tobacco is.
Good luck.
My New Year's resolution? To quit being so preachy. Aw, hell, that'll pass soon enough.

Smoke Turkeys instead. That's still legal, I think. If you can get them lit!

I resolve to be less polite to others in parking lots.

Why (You ask)?

rant on
Because (today) I waited for someone to back out of a space immediately in front of Orscheln's and again waited for traffic to clear so she could park in a space immediately in front of Hastings.... about 5 spaces away.

Handicapped parkers are another source of madness. Why will they park in a designated handicap space when the regular space next to it is available? Don't they have any consideration for other cripples? That thingie hangin' from the mirror doesn't mean that they MUST park in a cripple's spot.

It's an INSANE WORLD out there.... /rant
