Anyone know naything about cats?

I'm not a cat person but for some reason we have 2.

One's a grey barn cat we got as a kitten and the other is this orange thing my daughter had to have when I went to the pound to get a dog.

The grey one STALKS the front door and the instant we arne't looking he's out. He runs about 10 feet to a little clump of grass that's usually there, shews on some of it then goes the 2 feet to the concrete and waits for someone to make him go in.

He used to go out at night for extended periods of time but one summer he brought home fleas and he became a house cat.

The orange cat has started not using the litter box. I've always been told that this is a sign that they aren't feeling well so we took her to the vet. No UTI but they wormed her. That's been a month or 6 weeks ago and she's still leaving kitty bombs in the hall.

Anyone have any ideas other than putting them in the microwave on deforst for 30 seconds while the rest of the family sleeps?

Maybe you can find a cheap one that still works at a garage sale then you can toss it after!

Usually cats that run out for grass - just wanna be outside to chew grass............ it's a cat!! I feed mine the purina indoor formula in a green bag - my cat is declawed (actually all 4 paws)........ so even looking like he wants out makes me shiver!.... I will let him out to roll on the patio on occasion....... cause he's a CAT!

My kitty often if I don't get to the litter box when I should - will let me know by goin on the mat outside the box - I have never kept a cat that sprays - and even the best trained cat will get mad at ya and leave kitty bombs if they dont think you are paying attention to thier need. I suggest you make sure your cat know your displeasure of his behavior and try the box, food and blanket lock down - the cat might decide you got more power than it does - also the possibility of being forever locked up with food and a litter box isn't something a cat would like - I say you gotta be able to tell your cat - Nope - that behavior ain't gonna cut it!..............

not a cat person either, but my wife has two of them and has had the nasty furballs for almost 15 years now. anyways, recently they too have been peeing in various places other then the box. this all started just a few months ago and we think it has to be due to age but not sure. they both seem healthy, and it really is just one cat in particular who is the guilty party. the other one tries but misses the box which that i can deal with. the outright pissing in every corner and on all my stuff is what ticks me off. i have pleaded with my wife to try and find a nursing home for old cats but she isn't ready to part with them yet. i told her one more "accident" on my boxes of LPs and she won't have to worry about making a decision.

1) Keep the litter boxes clean.

2) Get them neutered or spayed.

3) If they persist in the unruly behavior, take them along on your next hunting trip!

Works OK for me!!

We take turns cleaning daily

They are both fixed

Haven't been hunting in a while but that used microwave is looking better and better.

I personally liked the suggestion of locking them in the bathroom for extended periods of time while bringing fresh food and water. But I'm afraid I'd find my way to the toilet with 'em and flush 'em down!!!

Shut'em in your freezer. No smell. No waste. No hassle.

It also gives you plausible deny-ability.
