I have a question, not only for Douglas County, but for the entire state of Oregon. Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me, I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as they see fit. In order for me to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test, which I have no problem with.

What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check, because I have to pass one to go earn it for them?

Please understand, I have nothing against helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sit on their butt. Could you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?

Love it Gunman............I agree. The people who need it can't get it;

Example: My sister, married with 4 kids, worked as a secretary, 10$/hr. He wakes up one morning, kisses her goodbye, and never comes back...

She goes to get assistance; can't.......she has a car (piece of crap car, not worth 2 cents). My sister says "I need the car to go to work"; "What? you work? Don't qualify"........now granted this was before "Welfare Reform" but from what I see, things haven't changed.

I'm gathering it's doing drug screening for assistance reciepants? I think I got that much! I think if they drug screen workers - why not welchers?........ could be "random" that way it wouldn't offend anyone!...... oh yeah it would........ I think it's a pretty good idea - but then I live a life that I don't worry bout no drug tests anyhow!......... = boring life but drug testable........... - does that mean I could welch for the rest of my life? I qualify!!

We had a woman call today to the WIC office - this was the conversation......

Caller - Hi - I wanna get my daughter signed up for WIC.
emplyee: She needs to come in to be screened for eligability
Caller: Well she's pregnant as of last night and again this morning - we are callin to get her signed up for all the programs - do we have to come in? Can't I do that for her? What other programs can she sign up for?
employee - No maam - she needs to come in and she will need an appt.

We figger this was the mom of a very young girl - we were wonderin if the mom was present during the "pregnancy last night and again this morning"....... illerate folks having illagitament children - I think it's gonna take generations to break the mold the Lefties has created in order to get a voting base....... this is just so sad!

Well of course - it's ludicroux to believe that this could ever happen given the state of things now............hell they are responsible for gettin us in this mess to begin with!!............ too many hand outs - no hands up........... yep you can thank politics for that!!
